this is my first outside grow,i know from reading around on this forum that the fingers on the leaves will start to decrease during the middle of the vegging stage.my sativa dominant plant max fingers are 7 and the other day two five finger leaves sprouted at the top of my plant.so does this mean that flowering is about to start or has it already started because about a month into to the grow white pistils started appearing, now its almost been 2 months from seed and the white pistils are turning brown and it dosent even look like the buds are forming yet,is this normal for sativa plants.should i start giving her flowering nutes or is she still in the vegging stage?

you are experiencing preflower.
Are the branches spacing out differently yet ?
If they are , and your just getting the preflower id say your not to far away from regular flowering.

Well i dont know that word in particular , but it means when the leaf sets are not growing horizontally anymore , but are growing in a 75 degree angel.
Not only just this but you will notice that while vegatative growth the branchs on the main stem are directly even with eachother, meaning they grow symmetrically. Whe she starts to flower the branches start switiching to non symmetrical.
