Where i live it is difficult to find large plastic containers that are suitable for growing. The only ones i have access to aren't food grace and the shape of the lid makes it difficult to drill holes as the plastic just splits. So would it be ok to use pond liner instead?
What i mean is building a simple wooden frame, lining it with plywood to create a box and then lining the inside with a pond liner to waterproof it. Sealing the box would be simple but is pond liner safe to use or does it leech chemicals into the plants? I know pond liners are designed to support fish and plant life so i would think they're clean to use.
Any help would be great.
