avg yield for 1 plant in a 4-4-6 with a 400 ?

Hey there,
Any chance anyone knows what the average yield one can get for a 3 foot tall plant in a 4 by 4 by 6 grow hut with a exhhaust fan and a box fan for cooling and a 400 watt hps. im looking for the average yeilds but i would welcome everyones best yield for a single under 400 hps as well thanks

if its just that one plant i would expect to get about 3-3.5 oz if you do everything right and its a decent yielding INDICA strain. Sativas....... who knows maybe 2.5oz theres lots of variables in any case.

If you get a half gram/watt of lighting you're doing good. 1 gram/watt and you've achieved ninja status! If it's your first grow I'd guess around 3-4 oz. This all ultimately depends on the strain, environmentals, nutes, ppm, ph, etc... Hope this helps.

thanks thats good to know. i have 1 plant growing right now that i keep topping for a single grow. any chance you know about what a decent average would be for 6 plants in that same room sharing the 400 watt hps. less veg time so alot less yield per plant im told?

well I also use a 400 watt and can tell you once your plants start to flower they will stretch and youll lose some room. Without side lighting your not going to be able to cover your whole grow area. 4 bigger plants is better then 6 smaller plants with uneven growth(ones on the outer edges). I would go to homedepot and get these 15$ TCP bulbs there amazing. 300 watt equivalent 2700k its a big sucker though.

allot of people here on RIU use them as well as myself there great for putting in between plants and then using smaller 27 watt bulbs for more side lighting. i would get 3 of those TCP bulbs and maybe 2 4 packs of cfl bulbs and youll have a decent amount of side lighting, sadly the 400 wont penetrate throughout your whole grow room.

no i didnt top this, but im topping some in veg right now. This is only my 3rd grow so still learning. This is a staggered grow because everything was ready at different times. I have a jack the ripper due end of this month, then a thseeds chocolate chunk due 2-3 weeks after that. then my super lemon haze and bubba kush. and this grow finishes in septembe with a flying dutchman pineapple punch and grand daddy purps.

here ismy jack the ripper 4 days before i cut it. i havent got those sweet cfl's yet still just the 400 hps, box fan and 4 inch exhaustin a 4-4-6 grow room, think its a good grow?

Completed three grow cycles with 9 plants in 3 gallon soil pots in a 3x3 foot space. One 400w HPS, no additional lights. Yields were 5-7 ounces. This is about 0.5grams/watt. Yours will probably be a little less with fewer plants.

thanks thats some good info, quick question for you, so was that 3 grows of 3 plants each or 3 grows of 9 plants each. and do you remember how tall your plants were when you started flowering?

My plants are clones that are veg grown with fluorescents in plastic cups, then in gallon pots until about 10-12" tall and then moved to 3 gallon pots under the HPS for flowering. 9 three gallon pots under the 400w HPS. It`s a dense mass of green but it works. Use a continuous rotating fan to control powdery mildew.

thats awespme and thanks for the link. so do you keep the light above the plants or dropped right in the middle of them or on the side wall area. and how far away do you keep it from the plants. 1 last question lol. i have a veg room with a 150 watt hps. should i take the hps out and replace it with a 300 watt flourescent?

use the hps for flowering and get fluorescent for veg.
