Are my roots normal?

I was wondering if my roots are normal they appear to be strong but there not bone white like other roots I see. Is it because of my nutes. I'm using Advanced Sensi Grow, b-52, and Nirvana Which all are brown colored. My roots are not slimy. i just want them white Im also using Sensizyme to keep my root zone clean.. Im in my fourth week of veg.

sometimes nutes will stain the roots.. i used to use liquid karma and that shit colored my roots brownish almost black..i thought i fucked up royally! but shit was all good..

Hydro DWC with sprayers. Yea I use Liquid karma from time to time also. Its good stuff.

dont worry be happy white roots are for soil if your planting hydro some NUTS will make the roots appear a differant colors brownish to blackish .

Should I add anything to my res to prevent root rot or pythium?

hygrozyme is an amazing addative that maintains healthy roots...it doesnt mess up pH or ppms...

That means keeping water temps around 68f, keeping lots of bubbles in the water, totally light proof container, and regular water changes. There are additives you can use to help keep the water sterile. If you decide to try one you need to make sure it's compatable with your nutes as well as Sensizyme.

how do I keep my res temp around 68 without a water chiller? I cant afford a water chiller right now. I do have a 4" Stone in my res and doesnt the pump and piping add bubbles when the water falls back into the res? I change my res once a week. Whart additives can i add to keep the res sterile?

Drop some marbles or fishing sinkers into the bottles and tie some string around them to keep them from floating around. It is preferable if the ice does not touch the roots themselves. I chose to use a sterilizing agent called Zone. This helps my res tolerate slightly higher temps without having to bother with the ice.

Your sprayers do help a great deal to oxygenate the water, but you'll still need lots of bubbles. Depending on the size of your res, a 4 inch stone may be enough. The more/smaller bubbles you have the happier your plants will be.

ok cool imma freeze some bottles what about those ice packs for like lunches or coolers? another thing where can I find that Zone product you mentioned?

The ice packs you can get for lunch coolers work fine, actually stay frozen just a bit longer, but they are hard to control as far as floating around your res. I find weighted water bottles work better. Some people have actually constructed a small satellite bucket connected to the main res, just to put the ice in.

I get my Zone from here, http://www.hydroponics.net/i/132209. I got my bottle last February and it's still 1/4 full. I believe Zone is safe to use with all types of nutrients, but it will definitely kill beneficial bacteria if you use any. I'm not sure if you can use it with enzyme products, you'll want to research that. And don't let Zone give you false security, you will still want to be very vigilant about res maintenance.

I just added some Hygrozyme yesterday and i've been adding the ice packs everything looks pretty stable in my dwc with the sprayers but my two bubble buckets roots look kinda slimy IDK maybe it will take a cpl days for the slim to clear up..
