grows look so much cooler with leds :D

Lol, I agree! Although when it was all LED, it was hard to see in the cab. With adding the CFL's I think it is a nice mix! You get some cool lighting angles on some of the bud shots. My gf wants to make prints and hang some on the wall as art! lol

Have you considered bending your plants and staking them down? I've also read about snapping the main stem slightly and letting the plant heal itself. All the nodes up from the snap will then flower into colas. You could also use a net for your screen and train and tie the tops to net horizontally. That way, you would probably triple your yield and the entire canopy should remain even. I plan to try several methods until I get one I'm happy with. With LEDs, you have to have a lot and get them close. I'm going to try to avoid bushy plants with a lot of fan leaves.

thanks Lucky for visiting my new thread on building an LED closet. I'm very encouraged by your UFO results. You are getting nice yield for that tight space. I'll be watching.

Proper scrog setups seem to require a lot of experimentation before you get your "flow" down. Proper combination of pinching, FIMing, and training really only comes from practice. But hey, if you're getting enough to satisfy your personal needs, why do anything drastically different? :)

I would like to LST them, but I use 3" rockwool cubes and there is nothing to tie them to. I am trying to just keep them short and the lights close at this point. When I move to a bigger place, I will try HPS, LST, scrog..... all kinds of stuff. I will have an entire room for "Hobby" rather than half of the second room in my apartment. I gotta keep the small grow do my clothes in my closet don't smell like Dro.

Thanks for checkin my thread out too!

Google "Reverse Scrog LST" and click on the first result. Someone else said it's also referred to as "MAX LST".. But whatever you want to call it, I think it could potentially help you any future low-height grows. I'm about to start in a 26 inch cab minus the 8 inches for the container/medium height and however high I can end up getting my LED's. But I'm working with a little over a foot of vertical space between soil and lights and will have to make the most of it. Was planning a scrog but had concerns still on the height and potential yield issues from not being able to veg them long enough. I'm going to place grates about 2-3 inches (using soil so I need some room for a breeze under the canopy to prevent mold) instead of 8-10 inches above my soil and let them grow through and begin the above method of training instead of a standard scrog.

Very interesting idea. I will have to see if I can make that work with my setup. In my veg area I have just plants in a clear rubbermaid container that get fed by drippers. I would have to figure out how to fit the wire mesh to allow LST without have to refit for each grow. This would be perfect if you have 1-2 plants in a bubbleponic or aeroponic setup cut out of the top of a regular rubbermaid tub though!

+rep for throwing the idea out there though, I'm sure it will help a few people! :)

Yes, anything more than 1-2 plants with that sort of grow would just get chaotic and overgrown for sure.

Have you considered tying them to themselves, Recently, I have used pipe cleaners to bend and tie the plant to itself with great results. The method can be repeated more than once on a single plant. I tried to attach a picture of what I'm describing. btw, Plants are look great.2h4aj3d.jpg

Nice idea, especially with the mylar as a background, can look pretty trippy.

One thing I will say, the buds are getting heavy! They don't appear to be getting noticably larger, but they are starting to put on weight since the stems are starting to lower. I have tied the larger ones to bamboo stakes to support them. The other thing is that there is a stronger floral scent when I open the cab. It's great to go in first thing in the morning or after I get home from work and open the cab and take a deep breath :)

Leaves are getting a little more yellow, but nothing major just yet. I plan on taking some pics tomorrow after work for my mid-week update!

Until then.....

As I already posted, the buds have much more smell going on. They are weighing down the stems a little as well. Here are some of the pics I just took......:

Let's start off with Peachez this time:

DSCF4238.jpg,DSCF4242.jpg She is filling out better than I thought she would and has a more traditional looking cola. We'll see if that really fills in.

Cameo:

Look close at the last pic an you can see quite a few buds that are all part of the mother plant!

Cameo has a sweet "candy like" smell that has gotten stronger in this grow. I am hoping to bring that out more this time around during the grow and I am planning on trying to cure some in mason jars provided my GF isn't in dire need by then :D

I haven't seen the buds get much larger, but they are getting heavier and denser. I am looking forward to cutting these down in a couple weeks and seeing the final weight.

What do you guys think? Think they will be ready to chop in 2 weeks?

Awesome grow man! Props and +rep to you my friend. I am loving all the LED grows popping up everywhere! Check mine out, using two 300w LED panels.
