Ok, well here goes nothing. Feminized Crystal Rain seeds. They all germinated in 24 hours (wow). They've popped through nicely (the next day after potting in soil). All MG products at this point (seedling start jiffy-grow, perlite and organic potting soil all mixed together). I have a 400 watt ballast that I have a MH bulb in right now. The light I bought came with the 400W HPS. From what I've gathered, the MH is the way to go for vegetation. I also bought some 12-4-8 MG Liquafeed which I haven't used yet. Any foresight provided will be greatly appreciated. I only have about a billion ?'s.

Those are big pots for seedlings and it is easy to have them hold the water for a long amount of time, gnats and other nasties can come. Be caucious with watering and study it thoroughly.

You have some very expensive seeds to learn with so let's talk about what can kill your plants
Temps over 75F
Too much watering
Too much nutrients, especially for seedlings I do give any at all
Too much screwing with them it will be some months so make sure an relax

That's what I can think of.

Thanks for the input! I was thinking the pots might be too big. Should I transplant back to a smaller container? Also, I know the soil mixture I have them in is quite rich. Is that a problem? When should I begin to fertilize? Is the MG 12-8-4 worth a shit?

What type MG soil? Just almost screwed up myself with MG time released soil. Read that MG organic is better. I'm a Fox Farmer now. Never going back. Lot's of MG post I would suggest searching if your gonna stick with that. Best I can gather no nutes for quite some time if MG time release.

Some of this was answered, get better soil, no nutrients for the first 3 or 4 weeks is the rule but I wait to see them start to turn pale then let them have it. You don't need to transplant it but it won't use all the water from all the dirt so just take note if it is staying wet at the bottom this has caused me problems. You can transplant them but transplanting is nerve racking with large plants, let along tiny little ones you gotta support the stem when you move it this would be considered a "high stress transplant" and I hate anything with those words in it.. :)

The MG bag simply says "organic". Nothing about "time released". So far nothing but doubting myself. Guess I'll just hold my course and do what comes naturally. Is it me, or do people just try to make this hobby sound more difficult than it really is? At least they ain't dead yet, lol! I do believe that I'll "reverse" transplant the little buggers into a cup or something. That's all that is really weighing on my mind at this point.

Just me but I wouldn't go backwards?? Like they said watch the soil and not too wet. Organic better than time released. I'm on my first and not even close to knowledgeable but I do know how you feel. Relax and kick back and watch em grow. Good help over in the plant problems if something starts going south. Enjoy the ride.

As for people making this "hobby" more difficult than it is... I guess it all depends on your expectations. You "could" throw some bag seeds in the pot and hope... or you could try and learn how to grow "A Grade". From what I hear its 50/50 genetics/care as to how good your end product will be. If your ok with shwag then you dont need to put time and effort and money into it. But then why bother..just go and by some shwag.

No dude. Life is way too short to be friggin around with any "schwag". It sorta confounds me why anyone would be shooting any bad negative vibes my way. I'm fairly confident that my grow will be successful, so lay off the negative shit yo. I'm looking for positive advice here. I rarely smoke anyway, so yes it is a "hobby", my life doesn't evolve around weed. I simply have a great appreciation for the finer things in life.

Sorry not trying to be negative... heck theres nothing wrong with shwag....I'm just saying you get out of it what you put into it. I too think of this as a hobby, not a business venture or anything else. I just envision breaking out my smoke with my friends and feeling that pride of "F Yah!! I grew this!!" Kool shit to me.. G'luck wth ur grow

Thanks man. The way you describe your experience is exactly the way I think about it. I like when folks ask "damn, where'd you get this". Don't know the feeling yet, but I'd like to be able to say "me and God made it". Peace and tranquility yo!

Welp, here is day 14. No nutes, very little water (mostly misting). Two are doing pretty well, one fairly well, and the runt just "disappeared" yesterday (sigh), I really gotta wonder what happened to her!. Can't wait to start feeding them (about week 3 or so I guess). Any thoughts/comments/ideas/suggestions?
