hi i have read somewhere that if you had a bunch of seeds that you can tell which are male an which are female by looking at the bottom of the seed not the pointed end (stylar) i think its called the other end cant remember what this parts called please correct me if i am wrong, if it has like a volcano crater in the bottom then this will be female but if it has like a flat crater than this is a male can anyone confirm this as i am almost through a cycle an dont have any regular seeds to test this theory on

Supposedly there are environmental factors that influence whether a seed turns male or female. If there is any truth to the environmental argument, then that would negate the 'sexing based on shape' argument.

Im currently in the process of germinating some seeds.

After reading this i went and checked em out. Some of them definately have that little crater on the opposite side the root comes out, while others dont (they just look like footballs).

Just planted the seedlings with the craters only, ill update in a few weeks when sex shows.

There is so much stuff that can effect the sex of the plant, espiacally the enviroment but then again im no expert. I dont kno if it would negate the shape argument, it very well could though, but it could be a combo of both shape/enviro

Nar a true female seed will always be female, it may herm on you with stress but it wont turn male.

The only way to test the crater thing would be to buy 10 feminized seeds and check them out

This has been debunked I think.

They say that higher nitrogen levels, cooler temperatures and more blue light will produce more females. IDK if it's true but I got 5 females out of 6 seeds in my current grow with all those conditions met.
