Very good idea. something like these would involve gene/dna splicing and modifeing. The reason that plant u have is able to have that gene is because it may be a weed and can withstand high stress levels. bioluminescent plants require a certain type of metabolism that of which cannibis does not have. The procedure will be harmful for the plant and may possible not even be able to be modified to support the bioluminiscent gene. you will need to add luciferase(a class of oxidative enzyme) and a substrate of luciferin will need to be added which i beleive may be more harmful then anything to a plant of cannabis and possibly may not be able to be done with proper gene/dna splicing. Am not saying its impossible because it is very possible. All i can say is good luck and hope you have a degree in some type of biogenetics studies.

What would make this interesting if if the Bioiluminescent gene was genetically modified for cannibis plant to maintain a strong illuminiscenty enough for it to produce its own photosynthesis without any help from the sun. It will burn and create its own food supply, that will make you very rich. Since the plant will be modified to support high stress levels and produce its own light supply it can literally be grown anywhere where oxygen is available.

IF we (usa) ever did it, I would expect it to be a bit before the mars missions planned in around 2040, something about colonizing....I would imagine such genetic breeding would be extremely useful to the project, so could see NASA funding such a thing, of course they most likely wouldn't include weed, but who knows what the political position on the matter will be in 30 years...

NASA would fund such a thing for genetic purpose but no use weed as their primary research subject. Most likely genes will be spliced and combined to other plants that produce fruits and vegetables unless by that time medicinal marijuana is completely legal and available for everyone to purchase over the counter it wont be so likely to be used. If it is legalized by that time such a product will create a high impact on NASA's research because the plant does not only have medicinal purposes but can be used for many other reasons as well. So if anyone from NASA is seeing these better get a jump on it before you get beaten to it by the russians again.

...all GHS strains I've grown that were "fem", were fem w/ no hermie traits ( Super Silver Haze, Trainwreck, The Church, Strawberry Haze )... Their trainwreck is insane, without a doubt.
I believe why most people do not like arjan, is because he claims to be the , "King of Cannabis" ... just sounds like an eogtistical bastard. idk.

Lucky you, i bought a mix pkt of Sativas from his coffeeshop, the Arjans#1 germed but didnt sprout, The Strawberry Haze never even germed, The Hawaiian grew to over 7 feet and flowered for 3 months and gave me nothing back!, The Nevilles turned Hermie! and ive just put the SSH into flower so we'll see what it does! "king of Cannabis??, More like king of his own Hype and taking credit for Shantibaba'a and Neville's work" GHS has never been the same since they left that 'cock' to carry on! Shame!

Not necesarily. Outdoor plants still face moonlight so they are still lit up at night time so the glow in the dark plant will still flower at regular timeing if controlled properly. it will need high maintenaced to keep it growing..
