Good luck, I personally know of one commercial grower that always dedicates a percentage of his crop to RKS as not only is it a massive yielder, it almost always turns colors, including a nice, deep purple, and the stone is excellent as well.

Dude I've been meaning to get up with u for a while, but really never get on RIU, anymore.I have read a few of ur threads, focusing on ur newer journals, in which u've been using CES nutes. I'm more on Icmag. The reason for this message is I recently got some freebies from Joel, and the fine gentlemen at CES. I did my first CES run with the DNA Genetics Sleeskunk strain.

Now dude, I've been growing for 2 years and haven't been able to get that "dank" bud, yet. And I've grown some well known strains from reputable breeders. I was using DM Gold(the entire line, with a bunch of additives).

Let me make this simple, I am thinking about giving Botanicare PBP a try, besides it being organic based, it doesn't have ANY nitrate nor ammoniacal nitrogen. The nitrogen in PBP is water soluble. However, I did like the end result of my CES grown Sleeskunk. So I was hoping u could share ur recipe with me, cause it seemed that at week 5, my Sleeskunk just faded from green, to white leaves by week 7 1/2. To then be forced to chop her down, do to Bud Rot, which I had never experienced b4. I had never also gotton such a MASSIVE cola b4.

So yes, I am askin u, if u would mind tellin me wat u do, or ur recipe. I'll tell u wat I did, and how I approached the whole CES thing.

Also so u know I ran G-Rex in veg also, Along with CES nutes.

I just decide to go by the 100-100-200-60(N-P-K-Mg) Mel Frank method, or wat not. I used the Cannastat calculator, and wat I got was this.
100-97-198-66-124(Ca)-2.38(Fe). And the recipe I used was as follow. Now remember, that this is sorta the Lucas method, applied to CES line.
mL/Gallon
5mL Micro
14mL Bloom
10mL Plant Amp
10mL Uncle John's Blend
2mL Mag Amped
4mL Cal-Mag+
8mL Bad Candy

Then I at week 5 I added Humboldt County's Own Gravity, and ran it with some Blackstrap Molasses, for 12 days. At week 6 I stopped using Bud Candy, and started using CES' Sugaree(stuff smells like Amoxicillin. That thick pink bubble gum medicine.). When I stop using the Gravity, I followed it with Overdrive. Followed by a flush, then just Sugaree till 4 days b4 chop, which then I just go with fresh water.

Now as far as the Ph being stable?????? Not for me. But maybe it's the other stuff I'm adding. My pH would rise to 6.3 or so, I would have a hard time getting it down to 5.8. But probably didn't have to.

I am doing a top drip, in Bio-Bizz Coco Coir,and it is a recirculating system, though people strongly advise against.. CES, and my own experience, say otherwise. Although after 5 days or so, it starts to smell like a rotten egg in the res. Though my girls seem to be fine, and it doesn't smell up the room.
Now brother this is the most Dankest stuff I have grown! As a matter of fact, this is the first harvest that has put a smile on my face, but there's still a lil of a chem taste, I think, just a tad. So I want a richer danker taste, and I saw u are also using Budswell, which I have been dyin to try. So please share with me wat ur doin????

U mention u use CES at 1/2 strength, so by that do u mean, 1/2 of EVERYTHING, down to the Mag Amped(DO U EVEN USE ANY CES ADDITIVES?) Or do u just 1/2 strenght the Base nute(Micro and Bloom)

Well bro, I hope I am not being a pain in the butt. I'm just looking to see if my recipe is somewhere near urs, and I am looking for ways to make my nugs taste special. So please any advise.... I will be glad to hear.

With the CES, I do run them all, including the additives (Uncle John, Plant Amp, Mag Amp), and all at half strength. between weeks 3-6 I add ~3oz to a full ~15g rez once a week. I top off with fresh water every 2-3 days. If I notice a particular rack starting to look a little yellow between weeks 3-5 I'll add an extra (or just double to bring up to normal) the mag, and have been known to add a splash of Botanicare CalMagPlus if it's really looking hungry.

The only other things I add to my res is Stress Zyme and Rooters Myco. My PPM never goes above 1000 and I no longer flush the res every 2 weeks, I just fill with fresh H2O and add CES.

I'm familiar with the rotten egg/sulfur smell, that occurs sometimes in my soil-less hempy buckets, when that happens a quick flush of clean water until the smell is gone always does the trick.

Am I correct, and when do u apply it? As far as the Rotten egg smell, I haven't had any issues with it outside the res. I just dump, clean out, and replenish res, though I GAG the entire time, LMAO. Gringo, u've been a big help bro. Like I said, that recipe I posted was the "Lucas Method" using CES, if u ever wanna give that a run. If u do, let me know wat ur results are. I'm on Icmag under 311.

So if u into that kind of thing, and I mean if u dig 311-Bad Religion-Incubus-TOOL-Slipknot-and a lot of Jazz I got bands for u. Thanks for clearing that Budswel thing up...... I REALLY think I'll be giving Budswel a try VERY SOON!!!!! Have u harvested a CES run using Budswel yet?????? Wat do u notice a difference in, when using the Budswel? And the taste, is ALL ur strains tasting the same with CES, or does the natural aroma and taste come thru? Dude I'm in LOVE with this SleeSkunk........ Such a different dank ass taste. Very tasty & smooth....... THE SMELL THAT IT LEAVES IN THE ROOM, AFTER U SMOKE IT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! OH.............. Sorry to be bombarding u with all these ????, I just want to be sure that it was CES, that helped with the natural flavoring of that strain. I ran a clone in GH FloraNova, and it has the same smell, sorta the same taste, but it's a little harsher...... BUT...... The CES batch also has been curing for 2 weeks longer than the GH batch.... So I can't FULLY say it's harsh from the chems, or it's not fully cured yet. I'll know in another week or so.

So let me know 1 thing..... In ur honest opinion, PBP did NOT make ur nugs taste better???? I'm not worried so much as in the weight, as I am in taste. I won't know if CES is the shit, till I run another strain with it. Right now I've got some more SleeSkunk on the rack, along with some White Berry, 2 Power Skunk, and 1 Double Gum. Once the Super Thai is done in 2-3 weeks, I will be moving some of those to the other table. But I'd like to run ALL those strains with CES. BUT do I spend $42 on a bottle of PBP and Liquid Karma(I have Sweet & CAl-Mag already), or do I spend $76 on CES UJB, PA, and Bloom(still got full bottles of everything else).

So to me it's like this, if I get 1/2 the weight but the best tasting bud EVER with PBP, then that's wat is, BUT, if it's really no a difference in taste, and I'm geting a bigger yield, like I just did.... WELL we know the answer to that. C------E-------S!!!!!
I just hear a lot of people ranting and raving about PBP, but a lot of ppl haven't really heard of CES, so they can't compare it to CES, so please share ur opinions on PBP.

Oh yeah, u mention something about beatin the heat...... U in the east or west coast? Cause we(on my side) were in a BAD heat wave for a while now, but finally some cool weather for a change, but now were back to the upper 90's, with a lot of rain showers for a few days, past and to come. After having run many different nutrient lineups, and I found that the PBP lineup is the most notorious for leaving the same bland taste/smell on every strain when used in flowering, and even more so if large amounts of Sweet is used. Other lineups do leave their own distinct mark on the final product, with the exception of CES, which has brought out the best in all strains that I fed it. Not only does it allow each strain to express the full extent of their natural aromas, it provides for a stable reservoir, which in turn allows the plant to produce the best yield possible.

White Berry and Power Skunk I can personally attest to better results using CES, especially WB; she is some of the tastiest and prettiest buds I've seen to date. Ladies really prefer the sweet tea scent of a properly cured bud and state that it does wonders for menstrual cramps.

Note, I do not practice the habit of flushing, but I take special care in drying, slowly and as evenly as possible, and cure at minimum of 2 weeks, and upwards of 2 months when possible. IMHO, flushing can rob the plant of essential nutrients during it's last stage of life.

Currently not state-side, but dealing with record heat as well.

Ahhhhhhhhhh..... First I need to CORRECT myself. I said Power Skunk, and I meant Power Kush by Dinafem........... Now I'm gonna have to ask u what a proper dry is for u.... Like do me a favor, and explain to me how u go about, harvesting, drying, curing.
I don't think I'm doing right yet. I have some dank nugs, but I don't think they were dried and cured right. They have dank taste, but I fell it's still got some time to go. So break it down to me brother on ur method of finishing ur product.
If I didn't know any better I'd say ur 1 of the CES guys!!!!!!! LOL.... J/K. I actually need to call Joel and thank him. Maybe I can get a sample of this T-Rex I've heard about, that's suppose to be better than G-Rex. But I guess I"ll go ahead and pick up some CES this week, thanks to ur convincing ass... LMAO!

The WB and the PK were both grown in Sunshine Mix, and Bio-Bizz nutes(not impressed, EXCEPT for the appearance on the Super Lemon Haze, which looks SICK) The WB is beautiful nugs, but no berry taste or smell. But instead it was very musky, creamy(or full bodied), and earthy. Very yummy, but not the taste that was described on web page. The bud looks the same.
The PK is a different strain. When growing it, it smelled like Fruit Loops. Thought it was gonna taste like it..... Instead, it taste like a DELICIOUS high end bottle of Olive oil. Don't know if u know wat I'm talking about, but higher end Olive Oil, seems to have a "floral" taste, and it tastes just like it. Pleasing, and smooth, but weird to me, cause it reminds me of a nice salad, LOL. But it is nice on the inhale, and exhale.
So now I wanna run CES on both strains to see wat that taste comes out to be.

As far as flushing I have always flushed, but there was times, I was like, WTF, tastes like burnt wood. but last 2 grows, I have been able to get white ash. So I think I'm afraid to NOT flush, and get a nasty batch on the next run. Maybe I can do 1 girl, and see if I tell a difference.

Yeah, Joel is good peeps, I haven't yet heard about T-Rex, time to go research.

It never ceases to amaze me the range of smells and flavors that are expressed through the many strains, for instance, Alpha Diesel, while it's sour and citrus, has a meaty, like over cooked steak or beef jerky taste when smoked. I'm familiar with that floral/high end olive oil scent, my Afghan Kush has a similar taste.

I grow in both aero/nft systems, and Hempy buckets; the aero units get fed CES and the buckets get fed from the aero reservoirs. I use perlite and vermiculite primarily, but my current locale makes it difficult to procure, hence I've been using PET pillow stuffing as medium in the buckets with good results.

As far as drying and curing, nothing magical, if RH is currently high, lots of moisture in the air (60%+) then I'll place the harvested buds in home made dryer, which is basically a large rubbermaid bin with 2 PC fans, one at the top sucking in air, one at the bottom sucking it out. If RH is low I'll either hang them on a line in a dark corner or hang them in dryer nets (like this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70115578 ) Always making sure the bud is crispy and dry before curing. Curing is a matter of burping regularly for at least the first 5 days, then seal it up and forget it for a while.

Nice job Gringo. I have one about 5 weeks into flower but it has the sweet skunk smell right now. I hope it cures nice. It still isn't the real roadkill I grew up with.

I also have been growing RKS for about 6 months. It is a very nice strain with a great skunky odor. I am a little disappointed in the yields since I heard it was such a good yielder and it takes a very long time to get some size on it in veg. It clones super fast but I can't grow enough of it at a time to make it a good commercial strain. Flower time is 56 days and the nuggets are good and dense. All in all a great strain but not a big enough yielder for bigger commercial grows

I took the best male and crossed it to a lovely BubbleGum pheno with amazing results. I call her BubbleFruit, very sweet smelling, some color like the RKS, but sweeter, like fresh fruit salad, and yields-a-plenty!
