thnx for the input..ill see if i can get that negative pressure working? the tent should be sucking in??Both way works good but if you can keep a negative presure in the tent with the filter you won't have any smell issue so sucking it is better.
Cool sensi.. i hear what your saying.. I might try that and see how it goes for a day or two.. Why would i PUSH air in to my filter??? Check my threads ,only new to cooltubes..lol thanks for the advice anyway..If its gonna be ur exhaust for your tent too u need to go filter, cooltube, fan sucking through both and blowing out somewhere high and outside the room. And that's one of the few things I agree with cervantes on. Not only will it help contain smell but it will also help keep temps regular.
Take a straw, poke holes into it then blow into it, ull be amazed how hard you'll have to blow to keep air from escaping those holes, now suck through it. If ur PUSHING all that heat through the vebts ur PUSHING it out of any and every tiny hole there may be, or a bad seal even. Where as if ur pulling, well all ur gonna do is pull somewhat unfiltered air out of the tent, where it needs to go.
Wait, Are u pushing air from the light to the into the filter? If so that's ur problem. Ur filter will be most effective when air is pulled into it
Alright hybrid.. Going to try out what sensi said first if no good gonna get 5"exhaust for cooltube out of the tent, and leave the 6" exhaust on the filter plus 5" input fan..I'm having the same problems with my 600 watt cooltube. Sub'ed to see if you figure yours out bro
Mike ,figured out most of what u said .. There not wrong answers mate ..I dont think you read all the posts from the start --- Id never listen to some one whos claims to Know all the right answers, especially on a forum!! Plus when the Guy has NOT 1 pic of he's grow.. LOLall wrong answers, all work some ,but not really the right way. you need to run vent hose from an outside sourse of air (outside) into cool tube and then back outside of living space. ( out of your home or into attic). push or pull does not mater depend on the fan manu.. you dont need the filter because the air cooling light does not mix with the air in tent so there is no tranfer of smell. also those filters lower cfm which lessens the cooling ability. if you dont vent the air from the light back outside living space you will heat up your living space. if you vent air back outside but your getting that air from inside tent or from living space your creating negitive pressure in you living space which will again cause you living space to get as warm as it is outside your home because the air outside you home will leak in because your creating a vacuum. thats how you properly cool the light. to cool the inside of tent you need a seperat can fan. you put the filter on that fan and pull the air out of the tent ( not the lights) into the room the tent is in. this way the grow area will be the same temp as the room the tent is in.
Hi
Just want to chip in here with a little tip for all you Cooltube users , I see a lot of pics around the net and they are set up wrong more often than not ...and heres why ...
People seem to overlook the whole idea of how they work and put them the wrong way round ... Your air intake needs to connect to the lamp fixture end of the cooltube so that cool air passes over the fixture befor it goes over the lamp... and then out .
If the cool air hits the lamp first and is sucked past the fixture on the way out ... IT HEATS IT UP !
That hot metal fixture and all the metal around it heats up ... This adds to room temp and interupts the flow out of the exaust ducting ...It can get pretty hot .

Might just sound like common sence ... But you would be supprised how many people i see getting this wrong
Hope this helps somone
