the poo has to have shroom spores in it to innoculate it....so if there isnt any shrooms already around,then i wouldnt count on that

as far as i know this guy who has this pasture doesnt feed them anything....the cows just walk around and eat grass
and i have gotten many from there....
idk...maybe he does feed them

like i said i have never found them outside of dairy farms cause there is something about the grain tablets, and it sucks haveing to trespass and worry about getting shot while your on the search.

In the seattle area I find shrooms growing everywhere during the season if I am looking hard, like along the side walk, in the park or any high school and college campus. I've never ever seen shrooms growing out of cow shit... well, soil is i guess technically.. but nothing fresh. Theres mostly cyanescens, stunzii and cubensis (and supposedly azurescens) growing here (as far as the magic ones), not sure if they grow wild or if hippies have planted them all over, but they always seem to grow out of the same wood chipy soil often with noticable mycelium (white splotches, fungus roots) so thats often a dead give away of places to look really hard for shroom caps.

If you really want to go shroom hunting, look on top of piles of cow shit and if you see mushrooms growing, squeeze the stem and it will bruise purple/blue within a minute or so, that's how you know it's psychedelic then like the other guy said, flick the top to spread the spores, come back in a month or two and you'll have some free beautiful shrooms

should grow grain or not as long as theres no fungicide in their feed, iv found them in fields that people use them for their meat

Whatever you do, be careful. If you are not experienced with wild mushroom hunting, don't go eating anything without positive ID. There's too many poisonous mushrooms out there to just rely on the bruise test. This thread scares me. Like I said, I'd recommend no one eat anything until positively ID'd by a pro or someone who knows exactly what to look for.

We're going to walk around and try to find them or others again in the same area this weekend. I'm going to check for bruising color and spore print color, and try to identify them somewhat with this little $6 guide I got from the book store. I'm guessing it is the "dung loving" lol

Would say the same for San Fran... but hell its the hippy capitol of the U.S and anyone roaming around the wooded areas with a large black garbage bag is warranted as a psychoactive mushroom thief
