I just saw a thing on the news this morning saying that the city apologized to the mom and the little girl and are now letting her set up at the fair.hahaha even alittle girl's plight against the masters of the universe XD
Power to the People....lmaoI just saw a thing on the news this morning saying that the city apologized to the mom and the little girl and are now letting her set up at the fair.

The government goons backed down and let her set her stand up. I understand the need for permits and rules, but perhaps they could make a seperate permit that would be much more affordable for little kids with an entrepeneurial spirit.Agree with OP
Punishment does not fit the crime
Its called Busking. Not even the same as panhandling, or "working for food". More likely the proper panhandlers will be the first to call the cops and complain. Busking is a perfectly acceptable activity. Some towns, market places and business owners actually like it. It adds to the flavor and atmosphere.Sorry to say, but I think that was fair. Too many people are pushing their children to become beggars, and not workers. Ok not this little girl in particular, but at our local Saturday market I seen 3 small ( 6-12) children in different location playing some instrument and trying to get coin thrown in there hat. That is sad.
that's a really good point. Its called Busking. Not even the same as panhandling, or "working for food". More likely the proper panhandlers will be the first to call the cops and complain. The Irish band Rodrigo y Gabriella started out busking. The Opera Babes were 'discovered' while busking... they did it to pay for lessons.
No doubt, the kid had it figured out for sure... Just post up right in the fair... She prob would have made a killin if left alonethat's a really good point.
you have to think about what you did as a kid to earn a dollar for candy or something along the line of. but cmon, everyone tried something along the lines of this, but i never did it at a fair, the child has a better idea, go to the people, why wait for them to find you. hahaha
That's what I'm saying. Why are we punishing people with an entrepeneurial spirit? Small business is extremely important to the economy, and small businesses sometimes grow up to become big businesses. I'm all about the govt. getting their share, so why not make the process of getting a permit more accessible and affordable. Some of the red tape needs to go!that's a really good point.

I agree.. Cut the red tape and let this be capitalism... not corporate capitalism...That's what I'm saying. Why are we punishing people with an entrepeneurial spirit?
