Seed Production. A Tutorial

..and helped you did! :)

I highly recommend to all the folks here to star reading this thread from post one - to the very latest post.
It's llllong and in parts tiring but let me tell you this - you will know so much just by 'keeping your eyes open' and reading communications between growers.

And for you Sir, i have a question that arose while reading another thread:
(hehe and I can tell you for a fact there isn't a single word on it in the whole thread!)

- What will happen assuming I mix two different kinds of male plant pollens, then after several days brushing the mix on a healthy female nugget?
You know what.. let's make it interesting lets assume one kind is pure Indica, and the other is pure Sativa.

PUH-lease don't answer a Chandler like reply.. "could the female BE more happy??"
coz' I'm really interested to know!

you would get a mix of seeds. only one pollen grain can pollinate a single hair. it would have to be one or the other, sativa or indica. you may get different strains within the same bud, but the genetics of the seeds themselves will be either sativa or indica.

This is the best thread Ive seen thus far.
A question for any 1 that can answer... lets say you have a 100% auto flower MI5 FEMALE and make seeds with a 100% auto flower MI5 MALE, the offspring will be 100% auto flowering - correct ?

Lets say you have a 100% auto flowering MI5 female and pollinate her with a 100% auto flowering Himalaya blue diesel male - the offspring will be a cross between MI5 and HBD and will be 100% auto flowering ??

Correct me if i'm wrong please, i need to know if this is correct !!

Cheers

i would assume so, though i have no experience with auto flowers.

Cheers.

With auto flowers say you have a male and a female and they take 6 weeks from start to bud to finish of bud should i pollinate the female strait away so then it has 6 weeks to develop seeds or wait until she a week into flower then pollinate her ???

Cheers

so how long can the pollen last once it has been jarred. and is it safe for th
e plant if the same pollen is used over and over again to create a certain trait.

I'm sure if you store pollen in the fridge it can last a year or 2. i'm pretty sure its safe thats how breeders get the right traits they desire.

Cheers

Hey fdd, Sir :bigjoint: , I asked this in another therad that you probably missed.

Let's say..
I have 2 NL plants - one is female one is male.
During flowering period they have some jungle fever and I got seeds.

I planted one of the seed. What will this plant be called? just NL, or any sort of F1's..?
essentially this questions is "NL+NL=NL?"

if it's stable it would be NL.

Hey Fdd, how do you pollinate a plant that is outdoors right next to other plants without pollinating what you dont want too? It's not draft free outside so any ideas?

If the male nl and the female nl are from the same pack you have f2/now if you have say dr.atomics nl/5and lets say serious seeds nl/5 then you would have f1's in theory...but nothern lights is so old that its already a ibl in a closed genepool..now if you took the nl/5male and crossed to lets say a female columbian god then you would have your fi hybrid with xtreme vigour...peace redleg

try building a box around it using poles or sticks and surround with tarp and gently pollinate the bottom branches leave 4 a while and then spray plant with water including yourself to kill all pollenhope that helps peace redleg.
