Well I want a bubbler system. I have a small fish tank pump, i'm going to check out the hydro store for the netted pots. Where do I get the ceramic stone?

Also heres the lighting system I want to get. 1 4 bulb 60 watt vanity light from lowes. I will get Y splitters so I can have 8 bulbs instead of 4. I have 2 42watt CFL's now but I will get 6 more 20watt cfls. I will have the 2 42watts in the middle and the rest everywhere else.

With that lighting can I wire the vanity to just plug into a regular outlet or will i have to hardwire?

If by ceramic stone you mean airstone, your hydro store will most likely have them, mine are $2 a piece from my local hydro shop. When you go bring your pump with and ask the shop if its powerful enough, I tried my tank pump and had to get a more powerful one. I really dont think the light fixture will have a plug on the end so you will have to wire a plug to it, pretty easy though...have fun and good luck with the new setup:blsmoke:

Does it seem like a good idea for a decent setup?
I am doing a SOG that can go to 32 plants, doing 16 right now, and I use a bubbler/DWC setup. I have 3, 8 inch air stones in each 18 gallon res, and run 4 resevoirs with 8 plants each. And I can run 4 resevoirs off of the one pump. I also use a bubbler setup for clones and mother plants as well. Plants grow super fast in a DWC setup and use a shitload of water, so you really have to keep on checking your PH level everyday as well as the level of your res and nutes. I swiched from an ebb and flow sytem to a DWC, turn it on and go.

As far as lights go, do what ya got to do. I am using CFL, T5, HPS & flouros. They all have their ups and downs, but the more light the better (within reason.)

Hope this helps...:blsmoke::peace:

well i got 2 1 week old plants and a 1 day old sprout. I just wanna do 3 plants maybe 4 on a hydro, with some CFL lights. would this bubbler hydro be decent for that many? using just one 10 gallon fish tank pump. Probably will put them in a big rubbermaid tub using mesh pots. would 8" pots work for them even all the way through flowering or would i need bigger ones, i'm trying for the least amount of transplanting.

I just want a small easy to maintain system that i can move if need be but will probably remain in a sliding door closet.

Chaotic, check out the link in my signature regarding my bubbler grow. Might give you some ideas on what, and what not, to do. Feel free to hit me up with any questions along the way. Good luck...

No problem at all with only 3/4 plants. The 10 gallon pump probaby wont be enough, but a decent pump for only 1 res you should be able to get for cheap.
Another thing to remember about rubbermaid tubs is that they have a tendency to bow when full of water, so simply double them up, one inside the other.
There is no transplanting using a bubbler setup that I have ever done, once its in the net pot you never want to pull the roots out of the net pot, and you could use an 8 inch pot no problem, but a 3/4/6 inch would work just as well, remember, surprisingly enough the root system holds even the smaller pots in place just fine..
..check out some pics. I have my cloning setup with the 3 airstones. I also have some clones in some plugssitting right next to them, running an experiment to see which one works faster
Then my res with the 8 plants in 3 3/4 inch net pots...
enjoy:joint:

I am looking at building one also, thats how I got here. I can tell you this much, you can find those pots at a home improvement store. You would remove the clones before the roots got to big to tangle up. Just space the cups a couple inches apart.
Another thing, you want to keep the light away from the roots, Paint the sides of the container black or cover it with duct tape or something.
