+rep for sure, I love what your doing and that your doing it for your girl like you are. I am thinking about switching over to LED for second grow and sticking with that and this current grow is making me more sure that I want to. With the UFO are you finding its reaching the outer edges of your plant or does the cone stay too small for that, also how many plants you have in there again? sorry for not paging back through and wading through the posts to find it. oh and sub'd cant wait to see what you do next!

Currently I have 5 plants in the cab. The 90w light is designed for 1-2 plants from what I have found. I wanted to make the most out of the space so I added the CFL lights. This seems to be the right amount of light for the space I have. Ideally a 90w LED would be in a 1.5x1.5 ft box with one good sized plant. I think you would get about 1-2 ounces off of it, more if you LST it. I don't mess with LST (yet) so I just flower more plants. The plant in the middle that has the LED over it is by far the healthiest plant and has the most buds. You gotta keep the LED's close to the plant. I realized just HOW much this mattered this time around because my plants got so tall going into the cab. I will be changing my lighting to an adjustable system for the next grow so I can give light to shorter plants.

Thanks for joining the thread, 8 days until I chop so hang around

Well I have run into an issue. I changed the nutes on the 3rd and when I did, I forgot to plug the pump back in before I left the house to do some errands. I did not notice this for a couple days when the plants drooped severly :( Many of the leaves are totally brown and dry. The buds seem to have dried up some as well. The center plant got hit the worst. They have been a few days with water again and I am not sure how this is going to affect the yield. I imagine it is a shock to the system, but I still plan to chop this weekend. Pretty dumb mistake :(

Anyone ever have this happen before?

Well as the pics will show, there has been a considerable amount of damage. I am hoping it does not affect the quality even though it most certainly did cause yield to drop :(

The plant hit hardest was the one with the most buds. This is a hard lesson to learn and I will most likely become OCD about making sure the water is flowing, lol

Peachez didn't really have much damage, nor did the 2 smaller Cameo plants.

Well I had a full day yesterday and converted the lighting over to an adjustable chain system. I chopped the plants and trimmed them. There were some pretty nice buds in there. One was for sure the largest I have ever grown with this setup. Surprisingly it was one of the Peachez plants that it came off of and she seemed to fill out late.

Here is a couple shots showing the new plants and lighting setup

DSCF4319.jpgI have the CFL's flush mounted to a board with mylar covered cardboard as a reflector. This is suspended by a chain on each side to adjust the height. The LED is suspended by a seperate chain that runs through the CFL board/fixture.

DSCF4321.jpgHere is the overall view of the cab. I might move the plants inward so that there is more LED exposure. Right now each plant is sitting under it's own CFL.

I will post dry weight in a few days after they have time to dry.

Let me know what you guys think.

After looking closer at the pictures, I decided to move the plants closer to the center. Here is the new positioning.

DSCF4327.jpgThis should not only give better light exposure, this should reduce the plants tilting toward the LED throughout the grow.

Wasn't sure if anyone was even following this thread since there were no posts this week.

I have a few pics now that the pistels are really showing. These plants have been on 12/12 for 2 weeks now and are looking pretty healthy and starting to get hairs!

I also have a pic of the overview of the cabinet without flash:

You can see the two sativa strains are growing taller than the indica strains. Peachez is in the back left and Jade is the front right. I also placed bamboo stakes by Jade to help her stand straighter since I know from previous grows she tends to lean and block other plants. This is just part of why she is in her last bloom. Peachez has more desirable traits for a sativa. The only plant that I topped was Jade, but I did trim fan leaves last week on all plants. Cameo makes up the other 3 plants (back right, front left, and front middle)

Let me know what you guys think! Your feedback is encouraged and appreciated!

I'm still wondering what people think about the question I posed in a previous post about the more important characteristics of the bud they prefer.....
nice ganja plants they really look nice keep it up :):weed::weed::weed::weed::weed::weed::weed::weed::weed::joint::joint::joint::joint::joint::joint::joint::weed::weed::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::blsmoke::blsmoke::blsmoke:bongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmilie:leaf::leaf::leaf::joint::joint::joint::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:8-)8-):peace:

Probably just a coincidence but I'm smoking bud that looks a lot like that, that comes from someone that usually has good buds, and it just tastes/smells.... off... like somethings not right with it. I don't think it's mold, I've smelled weed getting moldy before and it was much different. How did yours smell/taste after your water flow malfunction? Wondering if something similar happened to this other persons crop.

They aren't dry yet, still in the process. They do however smell great! Cameo has a sweet/grape smell to her and Peachez has a more earthy smell. My gf did smoke a small bud that was dried on a paper towel. It was from the lower part of the plant. She said she took about 6 hits and said she got REALLY high! That's all I am in it for right there ladies and gents! I was worried that the potency would be affected by not getting water, but so far so good. I will weigh it out and post the weights as they dry. We aren't in need of more, so this time we are gonna try some curing I think.

hey man I'm just stumbling upon your grows. I'm also using LEDs. I'm happy with them, but they don't seem to pack as much of a punch as HPS does. I think in time the technology will improve and LEDs will yield a ton more, but as for now it seems like they aren't as strong...
That said, it's awesome how they don't get hot so they'll never burn your plants, and they hardly cost anything to run.
Good stuff dude, glad your liking the lights - I am too. Subbed and +rep

Thanks for stopping in! I just started another thread yesterday for the new grow. The link is in my signature, come check it out

So here are some observations from this grow:
1. I had fewer tops/branches due to how these plants were trimmed in veg
2. The nugs that I did have were larger and denser than in the past, this is most likely because of being closer to the lights
3. The total weight came out to be 42.3g for the 3 Cameo plants and 15.2g for the 2 Peachez plants (that was the weight of just one Peachez plant last grow)

I learned from a few mistakes this grow. The plants not getting water was pretty detrimental I feel. It happened at a time when they were supposed to be bulking up :(

I have modified the way the lights hang that allows me to change the height with chains. I would love for everyone to follow along in my new thread (the link is in my sig) I hope to not have any stupid mistakes in this grow like not watering for 3 days, lol

Thanks to everyone who followed, hope to see you in the next one as well!bongsmilie

Smoke report is that Peachez is a nice mix of head/body. Cameo is a heavy hitting couchlock! I'm glad the lack of water didn't make the high weak

Update:

took just under 7g of Cameo and put her in a msaon jar to cure. After burping it once a day for 3-4 days my gf had a smoke. After one hit she said it was twice as strong as the stuff before we cured it! I think from now on curing is the way to go. I just wanted to do a small amount so that if it got mold it didn't ruin the whole batch. Can't wait to see what a week or two will do! :)

you gotta cure it! it's essential for connoisseurs taste. None will mold as long as you've dried it until the stem cleanly snaps. Then jar all of it and keep it in a dark place, opening it and moving the nugs around a bit 3 times a day for about a week or two. Your smoke will be WAY stronger and way smoother (depending of course...)
good shit dude
