Pot size for pot size?

I have a couple AK47 autoflower plants about 2' tall in a 1gl pot. I brought them to a spot outside to plant them but something happened & I couldnt. I ended up leaving them where they were and just went back after about 6 days to get them. They are healthy but I noticed when I got them that they had went into the flowering stage. Theyve been flowering for about 6 days & are still in the 1gl pots & prob have alittle root lock. I don't have any experience w/ autoflowers & I live in the northeast region. My question is, should I leave them outside in the 1gl pot, move them to a bigger pot, or, plant them in the ground? Will they even get any bigger seeing as they've been in flowering for about a week already? Or should I keep them in the 1gl pot or put them in a 5gl pot in case they're not ready in time & I have to bring them inside? Thanx alot.

Yeah I understand the 1' thing but it was kinda outta my control as I had to leave them alone for a week. And being autoflowers they grew very fast in that week, I wasn't expecting them to be flowering already. I should transplant them into a 5gl pot or into the ground? Do u think they'll have enough time in the ground to fully bud before the 1st frost? Like I said, this is my 1st time doing autoflower thing. Thanx for the quick reply.

I would put them in pots so you can move them if you want. You should depending on where you live. Autos shouldnt take longer then 60-70 days to flower
