so this is my second go around and seem to be having slight issues, hopefully someone can help me out.

SPECS: bag seed , unsure of strain
MG Organic soil
Blood Meal ( used 1x about 4 days agao)
4 6500k CFLs
rubbermaid bin

Thinking soil may be too "hot", but the twirling of the leaves on #2 has me questioning that. posted pics of MAX temp/humidity as well as MIN...

also....havent noticed any new growth in a week or more...maybe some bushing but no new height or significant growth

when plants start to get side shoots,IMO they need to be transplanted
you do not need blood meal yet.

i was thinking that too... as is the lights are about 2-3 inches from the top...worried that if i go bigger pots, ill have to reconfig the lights somehow.

forgot to mention they are just over a month old....

and to totally show my newbie-ness...what exactly is a side shoot?

temps over 88 slow or stop growth. You do got a nute burn looks like. dont feed and transplant. use plain water for next feeding only so to use up some of those nutes already in soil and get em out of there. Or you can flush if your real worried. Plus you may want some perlite in that soil when you transplant. your gonna need a couple 5 gal buckets or grow bags.

im thinking of switching to a more neutral soil when i transplant

any ideas of how to lower temps? i have one intake fan at the bottom 3x3 PC fan, outtake at the top 5x5 Pc fan, and a 6 in desk fan inside circulating air.....
luckily temps here are starting to cool off a bit after a sweltering summer, hoping that will have a good effect as well

the twisting is the ph. and get a fan out of a microwave. there incredibly strong and wont blow air directly straight. they make a vortex around the center, which is good cause they will bend the hell outta the plants once your in flowering. i only have a 16" and one microwave fan. its f-ing hitting high 90's here and my grow room temp is at 80 upstairs.

the heat stress from those temps will make your plantslook nute burnt.get the temps under control first because at 95 ill garauntee thats whats causing it.they will love a temp in the high 70s.both my rooms are bout 77 with lights on.

I don't think you should have amended your soil with bone meal. BM is a phosphorus amendment and concidering you bought an organic mix, the soil probably already had enough P. I say you transplant into another pot with just the plain soil. And its really too hot in there. Need to fix that first.

I don't know how your exhaust ports are but the inlet should be bigger than the outlet if at all possible, same size at the very least and having two fans running like that may actually decrease the airflow through the box. The 5" should be trying to push more air out than the 3" can pump in creating a pressure that works against both fans.

You might want to try removing the inlet fan to see if you get better flow but keep a close eye on temps until you're sure they are going down.

I know you probably don't want to hear this one but you also might want to think about pulling one of the bulbs, at least until you can get the temps under control. I guarantee your temps are 15-20 degrees higher near the top of the box and you're recording temps at below soil level where it's the coolest. The problem will only get worse as the plants grow into the heat.

I'd also suggest that when they get to about 2" from the bulbs it's time to raise the bulbs a few inches. My experience says a couple days at about 2" away from 3 bulbs and they start to show heat/light stress.

my 5 inch fan is at the top, sucking out hot air, the 3 inch fan is near the bottom blowing in. i would have no issue removing a bulb...as for repositioning it...that may be an issue. The lights are on the lid of a rubbermaid bin, with a power strip glued/secured to the underside, with adapters and y-sockets..not sure how i would be able to raise the lights seeing as they are secured to the cover of the box. any ideas???

Sorry I'm confusing you with two different things.

I don't mean fans when I say "inlet bigger than outlet", I mean the size of the exhaust holes themselves. Air will flow best if the inlet hole is bigger than the outlet. Open your car windows at 60mph and open one more than the other. The natural pressures created will cause air to flow in through the larger opening and out the window with the smaller opening.

As far as what I mean with the fans...even if the fans are the same size they could work against each other and cut airflow. I've seen a box work with two 4" holes/fans so I'm guessing but with your setup it's the first thing I would try but only do it if you can check em every 20 mins for the next couple of hours or so. The inlet fan may seem to be pushing a lot of air around in the box but it might not be drawing much in through the hole just circulating air inside the box.

I'm having a hard time picturing your light setup a pic or two would help but there are a lot of ways to get some cfls lit in a box...

will post more pics later tonight...currently at work till 930 EST... basically i have a huge rummermaid plastic storage bin. 3x3 fan (in) in the bottom of one short side / 5x5 fan (out) at the top of the same side / powerstrip glued to the lid with adapters & y sockets for the CFL's....

are you saying i should have two extra holes in the bin just for flow? or am i misreading?

I'm saying a passive inlet (one with no fan in the way, only outlet fan/s) should be better and that the inlet hole should be larger than the exhaust.

What I would try is removing the 3" fan and seeing if the temps go down any. If they do then I'd think about making that 3" a second outlet and put inlets on the other short side or even a larger second outlet fan.

What are temps outside the box? In the room or closet or w/e.

I don't know how bro but I think you're going to need to come up with more height for the lamps or keep your babies from getting ANY taller...

ohhhhhhh no i get ya, thanks for the tips man! i was thinking scrog to keep the height down...i do have a 400w HPS setup at a buddy's house, but i was trying to finish these here
