Got me thinking if you blow cold air through the ducting and coolshade and out your tent the at the otherside, will a carbon filter be usless?
Any point in a carbon filter if using coolshadt/tube?

no because it will still smell outside the tent. unless your using co2, you still want to exhaust the old stale air. you dont have to hook up another exhaust or anything like that, could probably just open the tent every once in a while. but it is still going to smell inside, that smell could travel outside the tent and into the intake. really you dont need a carbon filter, but its good to be safe.

was going to use 2 fans for air movment and 125mm fan and cooltube,
i figured with the vents on the tent the movment from the fans would keep a 600w,
1.2m room cool? see my journal for pics of the room.

I know the importance of a filter, just trying to figure out the best set up. The point i am making is if you have air passing through a system that runs through your tent the filter would only be catching hot air and the smell would remain in the tent. its looking like another extractor fan is required which i was trying to avoid to keep energy costs down. the other option would be to ditch the cooltube and use a diamond reflector and extract out the room to the filter, running two 16" room fans

Got it sorted mounted the filter at the top of the tent and extracted from the room through the light and out the tent.

Why are your plants sitting on top of your light?
How is the air moving through ur filter before its extracted out the tent? I dont see the duct with the filter on it hooked up to the light.
If the filter duct is attached to the one side of the light and the exhaust duct is attached to the other side of the light so its pulling thru light than its all good.

had a think about the set up and realised less ducting is better and the fan inside the tent was blowing through the tube rather than suck the hot air.
So i mounted the fan next to the filter and extracted out 100 times more effective.
This is what i love about the forums just takes that certain pointer for the penny to drop and weigh up the pros and cons.
@KrAzY80, the plants are under the light, tell me why you thought the plants were on top of the light?
was also thinking of reducing the ducting again and push it through the vent you can see behind the mesh of the tent(that vent runs all the way through the attic and out on to the roof) just a bit paranoid of the choppers and a roasting hot attic in the winter, so either going to have to sacrafice putting up with the smell or the heat.
i could run a small fresh air intake fan and seal the tent up and extract through the vent but i dont see the sense in that as the house is going to smell because there is no co2 system when the lights and fans go out, so why run the risk and run the air through the attic when you can heat your house for free.
So this brings me back to my question, any point in a filter?

My bubba kush after 12 hours the seeds popped with roots in 24 hours, transplanted them to rock wool moved them under the lights 10 hours ago and the seeds are showing signs of breaking the surface already damn quick if you ask me, hummidity and temps are spot on at 27, an hummidity at 80%
