Im just wondering if anyone has experience in starting plants from seed under fluorecent lights and then planting in the ground? I am wondering if i give them 24/7 light from the start and then move them outdoor after a month or 6 weeks if this will trigger flowering or shock the plant as they have been used to constent light? I only want to get them started indoor, and then let the natural light cycle take care of business so they get 3 or 4 months of veging and get massive before flowering when the days naturally get shorter in february or so(southern hemisphere). Im starting with feminised Ice and Aurora indica from nirvana. Any knowledgable input is appreciated.

People do exactly that here on the Spanish mediterranean coast to get a winter grow. The short winter days trigger flowering. But we do get good sun all year round and the climate is frost free.

yes, and you just need to get them use to the outdoors, called hardening off, couple hrs a day after seedling stage, this will help them get use to the great outdoors. Gradually give more hrs in sun to make them Hard to outside! No it should not shock them if you take my advise, transplanting might depending on your method. good luck and if you like ask away!!!

here we go again...ok,,24/7 lite indoor during your veg cycle is ok BUT..what i do is look ahead and give my plants a time schedule for how long to veg,,therefore i know what the time schedule will be outside when my plants are ready to go outside and i try to match my lite schedule indoor to the schedule outdoors when my plants are ready to go..minimizing in any stunning when the go out....and a healthy plant shouldnt miss a beat on any transplant..i had mine in 3.5gallon buckets and decided 20 days ago to transplant them in the ground and they have doubled in size since,,as you can see on pics in my profile..i followed a transplanting thread by "veggiegardener" ,,find it and follow it and you will have a great transplant...good luck.
