DEA agent with roll it up acounts?!

I have heard this and its very disturbing to me. I heard there are active dea acounts on roll it up and that the people that run the site know about it. is this true in anyway? cause if there is i wonder if they can read the PM's

I don't believe the DEA would pursue small-time growers on an online forum...besides I don't believe the DEA has worldwide jurisdiction, and this site is obviously a worldwide community...so it would be pointless for them to even try...

you would think that the government would have people that could grow the best weed. I allways hear of friends saying they hope it becomes legal in california so that they could open a store. lol i thank thats funny because there are people that are government funded that would have wallmart sized veg rooms. there would be no competing. I would be lying if i said i was all for legalization but if it came down to it I would want to see it pass and would gladly work a regular job to support my wife and kids so that the average guy that loves pot that wants to smoke a legal joint can spark it up where ever he wants

so would you say it would be safe to say what I heard is true? cause thats really what I want to know. Even if they are on here to learn which I think wouldnt be on here for that reason. my next concern would what can they do legally?

That is what I mean by critical thinking... you are on the right train of thought.... ask yourself, if they are hear, for whatever reason, what can they do legally. It's not against the law to discuss marijuana. A good many users of this site don't even fall under the jurisdiction of the DEA. Lots of users post pics of legal medical gardens. Lots of people post pics of gardens that aren't worth anyones time. Just seems like a poor place for the DEA to go fishing for busts. I would assume, if they are here, they use it more for fact gathering. What's the latest slang, the latest trends, the latest attitudes. What methods are used to hide gardens and activity. Basic information gathering such as that.

I cant anwser your question if the DEA is here or not, but my point is, should we be alarmed?

Also, for someone to read PM's they would have to be a site admin, not just a user with a badge.

I understand that the only person that could ready the pm's would be the admin. I was told that the admins know of this whole DEA thing.

i think that someone would have to be rather foolish to think that some form of either leo or federal agency doesn't indeed belong to sites like riu.. exactly what they are doing here is beyond me, but i think that the person who said basic fact finding is probably fairly close to the truth..
i sometimes see people posting about some pretty big grows on ths site along with others, and i think that they are indeed pretty brave people to be saying that they are using 10k watts in a huge grow or whatever.. paranoid or not, i like to think that im just paranoid enough not to get busted..

it's a leap of logic to assume if the site admins know the DEA has accounts here, they have granted them full access.

Basically the claim is, the site admins help the DEA spy.... for that claim there is 0 evidence. The burden of proof falls to the person making the claim. The fact that people aren't getting busted as a result of posting here seems to be evidence against this claim.

Occams razor - The explanation which requires the fewest assumptions is correct. It is senseless to do with more what can be done with less.

The first thing you must understand is that the DEA has jurisdiction in most areas of the world. I live outside the US and they are present here. Mostly outside of the US they are involved in bigtime smuggling operations and work alongside the host countries they are with. These countries are located throughout the world wherever a host country invites them or where the federal government has bullied their way into the country. This bullying is usually from the host country receiving monies from the US and must help the feds with the war on drugs.
Whether the DEA has agents which are part of RIU or not I couldn't say, but I think that if assume they are not here you are foolish. They will be anywhere drugs are involved and people brag about how many plants they have. If you are a bigtime grower for profit, I would be cautious, if you are a 3 or 4 plant grower I'd say you are pretty safe. Happy Growing
