producing resin after cut down

i've heard to put a plant into the dark right after cutting it down because it is still alive and will stretch for light if it see it. end resulting in more airy buds. (idk if its true or not)
though my main concern is the question below.
does/will a plant still produce resin after its cut down? like one last burst of resin while its dieing?

has anyone tested this?

Once the plant is chopped all functions begin to cease. You can further break down compounds through drying and curing but nothing new is made. Cut of your head. Do you continue walking around after that?

I'm fairly sure the plant continues "living" until the water pressure within the plant falls below what is required to function...

I doubt they would produce a significant amount of resin after you chop, but as the plant is drying and losing water, it might appear to be "gaining" resin.

only because you provide the proper conditions for rooting to occur. take a cutting and just drop it on the ground and see what happens...

ive thought about this alot. i guess ill have to research it some. its interesting cuz if they are still alive shortly after the chop then certain things may help to induce extra resin and such. it could give credit to the whole 'putting the plant in the fridge right after chop'... idk

it should die in a matter of an hour or hours. at least shrivle up and look dead.

No, it's just your plant wont be as potent if you dry it in light because light degrades THC. You are putting it in the dark so no light reaches it because it will break down some of the thc, not so it produces more resin.

Dark works its all over the fourm

its also all over the forum that you should harvest when you see amber trichs and 80% of the white hairs have browned. but at that point your usually a good month away.

im not argueing that the dark period doesnt work, im actually trrying it out now.

i just switched to 10/14 and soon to be 8/16 and i raised the lights about 20 inches. im also gonna do 24 or 48 hours in the dark to finish them off.
