ive herd from one friend that ashes is good for ur plants like ash from ur cigarette, ash from ur joint etc. being put in the soil.. thats one question, the second is mainly about cigarette butts tho, ive noticed my one friends friend puts cigarettes out in the soil hes growing in, isnt tobacco and cigarette smoke bad for ur plant? makes sense to me considering all the shit in tobacco, i smoke tobacco but always wash my hands after i have one if im to go in the garden which is indoors for me.

The ashes would be essentially pure carbon, and as far as I know the plant gets all of it's carbon from co2 (my hydro nutes have no carbon listed in the ingredients). I won't go so far as to say it will hurt the plant because I'm not sure that it will- I just don't see how adding it to the soil would help. I have heard that the tar in tobacco smoke and the resin in mj smoke will clog up the stomas on the leaves; I've never wanted to strangle the ladies so I just don't smoke in the grow room. Besides, it would be kinda fucked to smoke a bowl in front of the plants- it would be kinda like eating a hamburger in front of cow.

thanx for the info guys ya i will mayb practice saving ashes from my joints or cigarettes and add them to a plant or two to c if it makes a big difference, and i will mayb think about not smoking weed in the grow room haha, cant help it sometimes my computer is in the same room along with 12 from seed at a foot and a half, 7 clones, 2 autogrowers and 1 mother so theres more then just 1 or 2 getting "clogged" from the herb smoke lol. and i didnt think id practice putting butts out in my soil n e ways, didnt seem worth it for w/e chemical the plant would use out of it, even then.. the other chems would probly kill the one it uses lol.

either way, the 1000's of chemicals they put in those cigs can't be good for the plant in any way. Pure poison...

i also heard theres a small amount of somethin like sulphur in the cigarette ash the why the ash is good supposedly
also i think it can affect ph in large amounts? not sure on this...

ash is very different than tobacco. All the harmful stuff has been burned away. Using ash in soil is fairly common. cigarette ash isn't a very efficient way to make ash though. Everything stated above about tobacco and having a negative effect on plants is correct, so be careful. Also at the same time, you will find several horticultural sources with instructions for making an organic insecticide out of tobacco.

The good old ash contains potassium and is really good to use in flowering stage....Also u can use sigarets to keep the bugs away..an easy way to do this is to take on sig. tobacoe, put it in water(o,5 l ) let it stay like that for 4-6 hours( most of the evil shit will leave) and the add liquid soap and spray on to your plants...it work, and i have done it outdoors :hump:

This story stems from the practice of adding wood ash to vegetable gardens, it adds P+K if used judiciously. It also raises Ph. Too much will kill your plants. Ash from a couple cigs aint gonna do shit in a 3 gallon pot.
Be VERY careful trying to brew an insecticide from tobacco. Nicotine is a VERY dangerous poison in high concentrations. I use it on my row crops in very weak solutions. Works well, but I have to keep the windows closed on the tractor when I do it. I only use it as a last resort.
Search: Rodale Institute. They are the authoritative library for organic gardening and have recipes for nicotine insecticides as well as many others.
