Clonings in soil? Question needing answered

I have 6 clones that barley have some roots, is it ok to put them in nitrogen Ritch soil. It's kellogs brand from lowes. Has worm castings, bat guano and a few other things I can't remember. The clones are from my flowering mother, so I'm having to reveg it. Also I've heard if you reveg a flowering plant it makes it more potent. Any truth to this? 1 more thing, I cloned a flowering top witch has tight inernode spacing. Will the top grow better in any way compared to a cuting from a normal spot? Any help is appretiated!!
Happy growings, milesmkd

This is my second year growing and all my plants are now from a clone I got a year ago. I have done probably 300 clones over the two years I have grown and have a 80% success rate. I use soil only for cloning.

What I do,
Take a party cup "Red Plastic Type" and punch holes in the bottom for drainage, 2inches up at least. Place good soil into cup pack firmly, poke hole in center of soil about 2inches deep, take your fresh cut clone and soak in water, use hormone (If desired), stick clone in soil 2" deep and pack around stem. Keep fairly moist until roots show, then water like normal plant. You can grow an entire "Sea of green" grow in these cups. I cut the cup off the dirt clod and place entire clod in larger pot.

Hope that helps. 80% success rate that way.

Thanks, but I've already done this and they have roots already now, small ones. My question is will nitrogen ritch soil hurt them? My soil is made for veg stage.

I've rooted in soil but rock wool works better or use the jiffy pellets you really don't want soil with nutes in it. It will burn the roots as they are new. with rock wool or jiffy pellets there's no nutes all you have to do is use some rooting solution too soak them in and make sure the PH is 5.5 and you'll be fine I clone 200-300 at a time when I clone. I useroot-66-lg.jpg and get great results 95-100% success rate.

I don't know about it becoming more potent. I know it is hard on the plant to bring back to a vegetative state. I clone in jiffypucks & party cups using my soiless mix. I have an excellent success rate based on my fishtank humidor. The clones roots love heat, so if you can keep them warmer, it's better. I use an old glass fish tank with a heating pad under it. I mist the inside of the glass & close the lid to create a humidor & they love it.

By topping the plant, you can get two things. You can create more bud points & also help keep the plant from stretching. You can most certainly use the topping as a clone cutting, but will it grow to be better based on it's node spacing is beyond me, I would suspect everything has to do with the essentials, heat, food, light, light distance, etc.

My point is, I have 80% sucess rate and spend $2.00 one time and reuse container. THIS IS the best NEWBIE LIKE ME way to start. I use regular Miracle Grow Organics, Works Wonderful, 0 leaf loss during 2-3 weeks rooting.

He sounded like a new grower with a question like that. Im on my second year and tried all the other rooting mediums and it REALLY caused skinny weak little main stem.

I tried the Jiffy pucks second, (I use them in my vegetable garden) I found with ME I couldnt keep them wet enough...lol Soil made that better for me. Man I tried all sorts of things when I first started, everyone wanted to tell me what to do...as you probably feel also. I took what sounded logical and tried it. I found my own niche and so will everyone. Dont let anyone say their way is the best... in truth its the best for them. Like MG nutrients. Some hate em, I love em NOW that I learned how to use it. My methods 2years in I am yeilding 2+ pounds from a 3X4 foot plant. Miracle grow and all.

2-3 weeks to clone is way too long for me 7-10 days and the clones really healthy with long roots shooting out the bottom look behind the pit LOL ">

I had 50 OG clones there 100% success on that run

And your spending more than $2.00 to clone those arent you. Not me. in this economic times its better to save money.
No actually spent $10 for the dome and tray and $20 for Root66 $10 for Replicator and $10 for 1" Grodan rock wool cubes wich 45 come to a pack. 45 clones for $50 do the math I was doing them for a few clubs in Socal SFV and the root66 can do 500 or more plus the Replicator gel does maybe 300 or more and as for the trays I bought them once a week until I had 6 that was then but now I'm only cloning for myself and a few friends and maybe I'll make a clone machine in the next few months to see how it works and as for now rock wool it rocks, it doesn't cost $2 but last way longer than what you're buying

Fancy labels dont make good stuff. If that was the case then everyone would buy it. Look at the true organic growers. They use NOTHING from a bottle or package. Its all stuff they create themselves in their own backyard. Look at my cola on the left, that is my smallest cola this year. I use MG as a supplement to my organics, as I said before, true organics DO NOT COME IN A BOTTLE

You can't clone with Miracle grow and besides that's not really organic it's bad for your roots and you're the one buying a product with a label View attachment 1157466 Miracle grow is for noobs who don't have a clue on how to really grow

I use jiffy pellets and when I see 5-10 roots popping out they go straight into my fox farm soil. Hope this helps.
