So I harvested my plants today and while I was trimming I accidently cut off a small bud. Just wondering if anyone knew of a method to dry super quick so I can enjoy this little guy :bigjoint:
a little buds should dry overnight if just left out. a quick method to dry is use the microwave on the lowest setting. i highly advise against this tho. it destroys some of the thc. i'd just toss it on a table somewhere and let it sit about a day.

i find this funny. you spend months growing it and all of a sudden theres some vital urge to dry it as quick as possible. just hang it then cure it in jars smoke in 3 weeks min

also dont dry in ovens, microwaves, dehydrators. If you grow you know that trim hang dry, then cure and smoke is the only way to go. the rest is just a waste of weed.

Alright man i just read through all these answers to your question, and all these mafuckas are givin you bullshit answers and no solutions...... All you do is get a tubawear container, put a layer of paper towel at the bottom..... throw in about a gram or so, try to bust it up into smaller nugs......then wet another paper towel and put it over top of the container, put the lid back on with one corner open and microwave it at 40% for 15 second intervals........once you do this about 3 or four times the weed will be steam dried and it is nice n crispy..... n for neone whos gunna try n talk shit about this idea i did it a few days ago with a little sample bud i pulled from my plant, got me pretty fuckin high so enjoy :)

I don't know. All the advice so far has been pretty accurate. The question was how to "quick dry". Of course you'll get a crappy tasting bud @ like half the potency. But if it's good to begin with, you will get stoned as fuck ASAP-- probably the motivation for asking this question to begin with.

Microwaving in blasts and baking at low temps all do the same thing- you get a crispy bud that tastes shitty & has decreased potency.

But between the two, baking at 150-200 degrees until crispy is probably the better of the two.

Advising to do this to one bud isn't going to unravel the quality & integrity of our growing community.

Dude justs wants to get high, now.

We've all been there. I've been there.

Do not microwave. horrible horrible advice, most likely from people who dont grow.
Listen hear vertise its not like hes drying a whole crop in the god damn microwave.....obviously slow drying n curing is the best.....but when you got no weed and a fat ass pot plant starin at you, ur gunna wanna quick dry a little nuggy and get a little buzz going, this isGOOD ADVICE if u seek a little bowl or two..... and by the way I been growing outdoor for 10 years.... suck on that

sure you have...lol. Dont microwave not worth it. horrible advice.
Well, it DOES work. It's tricky though. Don't knock it til you've tried it.

Chef Mic was my only option one time. I was at a friend's efficiency and the microwave was the only working appliance in the house. I wanted to show him some freshly harvested buds, to which he said "Hey, let's smoke it!"

So we jammed it in the vaporizer. (you do have one of those, don't you?)

Well, it was too fresh. Dude unnamed was on the overgrow forums (this was a while ago) and he read that you could microwave it.

Not microwave the bud, as in cook on a plate.

The method is extracting the moisture out of the bud with steam.

Here's how we did it:

place the bud inside a tea cup, and cover with damp rag. Microwave in increments of 15-20 secs, waiting 30 secs in between. Supposedly the action of heating the rag draped over the cup creates a vacuum, a hot one, that draws out moisture from the bud as the water is cooked out of the rag.

We repeated 4-5 times, and was able to vaporize most of it. Still very stoney baloney.

Can't remember if the method/science behind the method is accurate. It was a very long time ago!

More importantly, I don't really care! Because "quick drying" in the oven is still way better and doesn't take much longer!

 to all the snobs out there. We've all wanted to sample our own product a little early ...it's not the end of the world and none of us are bad people for being a little impatient!
To answer your question - skip all the add-ons and just microwave on a plate, on low, until it's as dry as you like it. If you happen upon a little more patience, at some point, perfectly slow cured bud is much better. :hump:

oh ive done it before and yes it stinks. You grow bud for months and whats a few weeks more for a good smoke. Do it if you want who cares but i have tried a dehydrator and microwave and to me its not worth it.

I have used this method many times and it works awesome, if you turn your toaster oven on and leave it 150degrees or just under it takes bout 6- 12 hours and the bud is great, if you want it quicker you can do 200- 250 and it should be ready in 10 mins to 45 mins dependin on how wet it is...personally i think heating it in a microwave would kill the potency a bit, but with quickdry you always loose!
