Hehe, good call! A lot of these discs are part of a starter set (aka garbage) you get when you buy disc equipment like baskets.
The shiny acrylic discs are my favorite...
...really big distance with accuracy is a lotta fun.

The "Dumpsters" i have is the exact same way. I'll pack a half of a bowl, then my wif and I will take 2 maybe 3 hits and just be baked for hours. It's great just pretty heavy indica smoke.

Thanks, they did have a tough beginning. Transplanting into buckets in early June saved this operation, although it did stunt the potential size these plants could have reached in the ground as intended.
Can't wait for the final harvest in October!

Just watered the remaining 6 plants 10 gallons of water. I've left the double bucket reservoir system in effect still. Two reasons:
1. It's getting close to harvest and don't want to make many trips out to the spot and risk being spotted.
2. The temps outside drain the hell out of these buckets normally, but the bucket reservoir system helps the roots stay wet longer.
The wood mulch on top of the the buckets really helps retain moisture. Strongly recommend that to anyone attempting something similar to this.
The 3 Sour Diesel are still filling out, slight tinge of bright pink/amber in the hairs. All the leaves are coated with glistening crystals.
The 3 G13/Haze look and now smell reeeeeeeeeeally sweet, the complete opposite of the Sour Diesel.
The Diesel smells great (a sour and fuel oil smell) which is really cool and unique. But the G13/Haze has a really sweet smell, almost Spearmint-like.
I'm really excited that there is a larger genetic percentage of the Hawaiian sativa in this strain, than G13. G13 is supposed to add a real hammering and heavy stone, but I already have that in the Sour Diesel that I've harvested.
Really wish I had more than 2 1/2 plants of G13/Haze. I won't be able to grow these in the midwest like I want to because they'd take too long before the nightly frosts of October start setting in.
Here are some pics:

Looking real nice. Sometimes you have to make lemonade out of lemons, and I'd have to say you did great. Made the right choice by slapping them bitches into buckets. Wish I could of done an outdoor crop this year...
With your "reservoir system" is it wick style or are you just letting the sun warm up the bottom bucket forcing water vapor up? I've used the wick style before, works great.

but without that big hole in the middle for a 16 ounce party cup. Just many small holes just like that.
I took that bucket (which has the plant in it) and put it inside of another regular bucket (which I put 2 1/2 gallons of water into ahead of time).
You have to lower the plant bucket with holes very slowly into the regular bucket with 2 1/2 gallons of water in it. You do this so you don't have water sloshing out the top if you lower it too fast, and that the bottom of the root ball gets really thourghly soaked. That's the main reason you don't go fast; so you can really super-saturate the soil slowly and completely.
After that's done, you water the tops like normal. That water gets trapped between the water that's already at the bottom of the root ball, so this new watering on top just soaks the soil higher and higher up the plant.
It really must be stated again that adding wood mulch really helped maintain a moist top layer. After being gone for nearly 2 weeks, I came back and found the soil directly under the wood mulch chips was still moist to the touch. It had been in the mid 90s with no clouds/no rain the entire time I was gone
The roots do eventually filter their way down into the holes sometimes (not always), so this was just another reason not to remove this system.
It hasn't rained here in nearly 3 1/2 weeks, very strange. This system holds up though, and the plants always have water, even this week when temps are supposed to be in the mid 90s once again.

Had a good trip out to the girls. Remarkably healthy considering there aren't any fan leaves on any of them.
Gave the 6 plants (3 G13/Haze, 3 Sour Diesel) 15 gallons of water, which remains in the 6 bucket reservoir system until the plants need it. And believe me, they'll need it this week. Forecasted mid-90s and sunny with no chance of rain for at least another week.
I'm consciously limiting the number of trips I have to go out there, to lower any risk of being spotted. These reservoir buckets I setup for when I was away on business for 2 weeks have really provided me some watering flexibility.
Didn't notice a single cat (or any evidence of them being there) on any of the remaining 6 plants. That is a very big relief. When I was gone for 2 weeks, 4 of my best Sour Diesel fell victim to a caterpillar infestation. They destroyed buds, which made things worse because those plants were finishing so fast.
I harvested them almost 2 weeks ago (September 10th), which is early, but the plants had fat buds and red hairs everywhere. To avoid the caterpillars completely destroying the plants, I harvested those 4 early to salvage something. I did end up with 5 ounces of nice looking (great smelling!) bud. Had to throw away a lot of rotting bud, which is always hard to do.
It already smokes at a mid-grade level high...most likely because I pulled early and it's early in curing.

This was a Sour Diesel plant. I always thought the stem was cool, so I kept it as a trophy of sorts. It's like a camera tripod.
I found this on my car in July:

Anyway, I moved to a new spot, and haven't had any probs since. I didn't show this then, because all the "awww you better watch out buddy" posts I was surely to get. Being careful is second nature to me.

aye man not hatin at all im about the same age as you, but DAMN man you are gonna get caught up in some f.e.d shit with all those plants... i went to calihan in northern cali and saw some HUGE plants growing outdoor.. i live in WA and my plants will no even get near as big as your cali plants! nice job with those buckets too you guys are smart
