Harvested them all today, bubbleicious had some mold in the top cola. Dissected it and removed most of the effected bud. Should I be safe and toss the hole top or can I get by and remove the effected area? I removed the moldy bud and threw them out back in the weeds immediatly and then place what appears ok inside the box for drying. Would you guys say im good?
P.S. I take back what I said about Bubbleicious, its prone to bud rot and mold pretty easily.

Congrats on the harvests!!! Just remove the infected piece and you will be fine.. I'd try to keep that humidity low as possible just in case... A little mold never hurt anyone! Or has it? lol
Sucks it happened to that bubbleicious! It was looking perfect till that happened! Damn mold!

Yeah tell me about it. The buds are so thick I'm afraid more mold will hit. Right now the box is dark, 53 degrees and 45 percent humidity. These buds will be in there for at least two weeks to slow dry...

Damn, I don't want mold on my buds! My humidity is around 45 though, thats sucks having to cut into your babies!! "Unless your smoking them

Thanks!! Good to see you stopped by. I know what you mean, I was counting the days when week 5 hit. Then they explode with growth and it makes it that much more satisfying to wait it out.

So, I hung the buds instead of screen drying. Im going to hang for 7-14 days so that the stems snap, then im debating on trying the paper bag method or just go to straight jars. Last grow worked well with just straight jars but I had to stay on top of burping the jars at least every 4-6 hours for a few weeks, then they were good to go. What do you guys think??

My op is in my basement as well.i dont think its cause of that.It had to be some other factor for the mold.The only plant i got mold in was a plant i thought was dry and tried curing it.When flowering my humdity is 40 or lower or i will use a dehumidifier to drop it.

Whats up SS, the last few harvests i have done, they were ready for jars after 4 to 5 days, and I only had to burp once a day for like 15 mins... I think if you let it hang dry for too long, you will have some crispy nugs there, lol.

Well the last week of flushing was heavy, so I think that had something to do with it.

Yeah maybe last grow I burped twice-three times a day for like a week. I heard if they are slightly crispy on the outside, the jarring will wick out the moisture and they will be consistantly moist throughout the bud. I jarred right after drying last grow and they are just now smoking right. (2 months later)

Stone, in terms of total weeks, which grow took longer? And do you expect this harvest to yield more than your first?

Definatly has to do with the size of the environment your growing in and the quality of strain. Both grows were harvested at 76 days total and I will probably end up with about the same yield (but thinking first grow will be bigger). I think there were a variety of strains I grew the first time that are still unknow but I am sure that one of them was just like a sour diesel I tried a while back. Almost exactly. I would have to say that my box seems to limit the size on these plants for sure. I guess I could veg for like 4 weeks but I would prob end up with the same amount in the end. my 25 square feet is just right for 4-5 short plants that is always going to yield just enough medicine for one person. Im guessing super skunk will be the biggest yield coming in around 2 ounces and white widow at just short of one ounce. This box works for what it was designed for, me and my personal medicine!!

I don't have much experience with drying and curing but I've been reading and most people suggest NOT to wait until the stems snaps.. Instead go by how the bud actually feels, like you where saying above.. This is the way I did the second half of my shortrider and it seems to be smoking good a few weeks later.. You do have to leave the jar open a little longer once the moisture disributes but it seemed to work well.. Just wait until the outside of the buds are crispy to the touch and throw them in jars..

Thats what I was thinking but with my first grow, they didnt snap and I got mold that took half of one plant. I was burping multiple times and everything. I am sure that once I dry to snap or a crisp bend that the moisture should wick out when jarred. I hope so. That way reducing my chances of mold again... They need to create a mold resistant strain!!
