new growth problems

hey guys!

Can anyone tell me why my new growth leaves would be narrow with the edges curling upwards? Could it be that the humidity is too low?Older leaves are yellow, and new leaves green but very very thin.

Usually curling up or down indicates heat stress but its hard to tell without pics..
Yup heat stress with low humidity will cause the leaves to curl up. What is your temp Light and How far away is it?
Do you mist? Plants love it in veg.
And yah Pics def help!

the light is a 400watt MH and is about just over a foot above the plants. They are my 1st grow, so they not healthy.lol. All grown in soil with perlite and vermiculite. I dont mist at all(besides for folar feeding). They in my wendy house which is about 3mx5m. Its not the tips that are curling, but the actuall sides of the leaves. Will post pics tonight after work!

Seems close for a 400 Mh 12"...is it air-cooled or do you have a fan blowing across tops?
Temp/Humidity?

yeah if you have desert low humidity like I do you will want to get a humidifier, edge curling sounds like humidity issues to me, as that is the battle I'm currently fighting. I have a 400 watt hps a foot above my plants, how efficient is your ventilation and what are your average temps?

I had curling on top with only a 150 w Hps 8" from top and I had a fan blowing across the top too! Had to move it to 12"...?

well i have an air in take fan(300mm) and i leave the window open. Temps are round 27c.its a huge wendy, so theres alot of ventilation. Over the weekends i even leave the door open. And theres an oscilating fan moving the air inside. The wierd thing is there were 3 plants that are now just under a meter and budding nicely.Im in SA, so i use the natural light to flower(so they not in wendy anymore). But the others are just sick as hell!!! I just bought another meter that measures PH, Moister, and light so im hoping that could give me some answers. But because they vegging, im thinking its got something to do with low humidity.

well I guess I didn't take into account area.. my room is always really cold and I have plenty of ventilation and air flow so my lights being close isn't much of a problem. but its just arid as fuck and I only have one little stupid vicks humidifier that emptys itself on a daily basis.

Pics would be great.

Earlier you said it wasn't the tips, but it was the edges.... That sounds like one of a few things. PH lockout of Mg, too arid or hot, and not enough water or moisture in soil. If you got the meter I think you have, it is good for the light meter and the moisture meter. If it gets anywhere in the red, water until you see run off. You'll need a true digital PH meter for accurate run off PH measurements. The meter you bought will almost consistently read as a PH of 6.0

ja best i post some pics later.but if it is some sort of PH lockout, wouldt folar feeding help?
If it is lock out then you have to flush soil or res out. Ph'd water only!
Lock out and def are two different matters. Def, yes you can foliar feed. Lockout is from too much nutes which causes salt build up locking out nutes ( looks like a def) so that no matter how much you give them they cannot absorb the nutes... but the two are different!

Make sense?

So i can flush them with rain water then?
Yes... if you like they would probably love it! Nothing better than Mother Nature!

How old are your plants?

What is the N-P-K value of your nutes?

Is their nutes in soil eg Mg?

yoh i dont know that off hand, but they liquid nutes(from the cannibus grow bible.lol), GHE florogrow, floromicro and florobloom.when i have given then nutes, i use half strenth or less. They are about 2months old, but stunnted as fuck. But its ok, coz they my 1st plants, so instead of tossing them, id rather try learn from their mistakes, so that hopefully i dont cause the same shit with my new plants.

That's what I'm using Flora 3 part.
Good attitude to have! Live and learn is right!
Have you flushed with just water ever? being two months the soil needs to be flushed if you give just nutes every feed. Flushed as in 3 times the amt of pot size!!! Ph'd of course. Or rain water!
