Is t5 lighting ok to use through entire growth?

I have sucked it up and decided to grow what i should be able to get at chevron. For $5 a pack.

I purchased some feminized seeds, 2 growing containers, some jiffy cups, the fox farm trio, along with the fox farm soil, a 4 bulb 2' t5 lamp with suspension hardware, a roll of mylar, and some organocide.

I've sterilized everything with a 10-90 bleach to water mix and I'm currently just waiting on my new toys to arrive in the mail.

I understand how to grow plants, my father taught me a long time ago. Never understood why he knew so much and come to find out he grew a rather large garden of marijuana before I was born. But that's another story. :leaf:

MY QUESTION IS: Can i use the T5 lamp set up to grow my plants through veg and flowering?? I hear most people say t5's are great for veg but I cant find anything on using T5's to flower....

ANY input is appreciated. :weed:

yea you can just check its the correct spectrum and keep the plants small people get good results using scrog and t5s

You can use T5s for veg/flower...red spectrum or warm bulbs are better for budding stage....Blue spectrum or cool bulbs are better for veg stage.

I don't remember where, but I remember a detailed post on some forum that gave conclusions on a 250 watt grow forum. He said that for 250 watts and under, in a scrog, T5s and CFLs had just as good of a yield as HPS.
Don't know how true it is. Maybe particular color temperature bulbs for flowering are important, different from veg growth? Like with CFLs.

i am ecstatic to hear that because im out of money for now. I might buy a hps later on but its t5s for now.

the bulbs are 6500k.... ive also heard to switch out 2 of the 6500's for 2-3000's during flowering.. would you agree?

You can check out my grow journal if you'd like, I am doing a grow from seed completely under a 4 ft' 6 bulbs T5 with full spectrum bulb set-up (3 blue, 3 red). So far so good. It can be done, you just have to make sure you keep the plants close to the light.

I have not gone through a complete harvest with T5's yet; this is my first. And it has been delayed by Nirvana. I've got one seedling right now (Blackberry) that is about 8 days old. A lot of people have good results with using T5 and a scrog setup. But I will be 'lollypopping' mine and going for about 4 big ass colas, rather than screening new growth for even bud growth.

i will more than likely scrog it, simply because I prefer quantity over quality. (THIS TIME).

i didn't purchase all of this stuff for one grow, im sure you imagine.

lollypopping is just trimming the bottom nodes right? ive heard of it before.

Essentially, that's how I understand it. Cutting all the bottom growth that would not receive proper lighting in order to move the plant energy that would be exerted into the bottom nodes, to the top. I would love to see a side by side done where one plant is lollypopped and one is just freely grown. I'd guess yields would be very close, but could see the lollypopped ones with bigger colas and less popcorn.

your more than likely right.. i just figured that it would just make it a more of a "PPP" but it actually jus buds like crazy up top? you must have a support idea right?

got me questioning my approach to this now

What's a PPP? As far as support ideas, you can use whatever you want...bamboo rods, plastic support rods, there's a myriad of options at your local hydro store.

They might as well be the same thing. Scrogging is a type of LST.

Pure Power Plant is a strain, so I'm confused as to what you're trying to say.
