Yeah I fall in the former category.

I almost went into the back of a school bus, long story short I came out of a turn doing like 85+ saw a school bus with the sign deployed, slammed on the brakes with my rear tire locked from 85-0 lol. Still have NO idea how I maneuvered a bike with the rear tire sliding out from underneath around a fucking school bus.
I wasn't so lucky. The bus took off from a stop sign in front of me and I T-boned it.

Here's the video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKbnayjh8Ys

I got lucky and there was a security camera on the street corner outside of a drugstore. This video put a little money in my pocket.

I'm neither crotch rocket or Harley. I owned a Buell XB9R and am very sad to see Buell be shut down by HD. Really turned me off to HD as a whole and won't ever own a HD because of it. If I were to buy another bike it would have to be a Duc.

As far as helmets go, if you don't wear a lid you aren't my friend. My step dad thought it was cool shit to not ever wear a helmet, then he asked me one day why I wear a helmet, I kindly replied "because I don't give a shit about looking cool, I like my life and want to enjoy it to the fullest so I choose to protect myself as much as possible." ever since then he wears a helmet. Although it's not a full face because he's a Harley guy and I don't think I've ever seen more than a handful of Cruisers wear full face helmets.

Yep, brand new helmet so I was wearing it to show it off. Otherwise I never rode with one.
Did you get another bike?

I've never had an accident on a motorcycle. A bunch of close calls. People like to pull out in front of bikes. It happened to me on a regular basis on my way to work. One day I was just cruising some back roads coming into town and this lady decided she wanted to pull out in front of me and stay in the same lane, I was doing 55 and locked up the back brakes just so I wouldn't run into the back of her. I don't think she ever noticed me, even when I rolled up beside her and flipped her off.

Dude go with a naked bike, the are beautiful, and little more tame compared with going with a full on sportsbike.

Something like a Honda Hornet 600, 2008 or older are the most beautiful ones, with the round head light or Suzuki Bandit, and Yamaha will be bringing out an 800cc version of their Faser, which looks awsome.

Or if you have a bit more cash get like a Ducati Streetfighter, or Monster two beautiful bikes.

Yeah man in my opinion if you want a fast bike but not so fast that you scare yourself go for a naked model.
Look those bikes up they're beautiful.

That accident sucks by the way man. Seriously, most people get fucked off with bikers saying that we are in the wrong and drive like lunatics, most bikers I know drive with the most care I have ever seen, because if you dont something like your accident is bound to happen. Even when other people are in the wrong, you gotta watch out for yourself, people pay no attention to bikes on the road. And then when an accident happens they say "shit, I didn't see you" fuck off man, just open your damn eyes and stop talking on your fucking cell phone while you're driving!!!!

Not since the accident. I actually had 2 at the time, the other was an 08 Honda 599. This was what I had before the bike in the accident. I was really into motorcycles before the accident.

The police didn't know there was a camera at the intersection and tried to blame the whole accident on me. They said I was drag racing a friend. I returned to the scene of the accident to collect evidence for myself and turned around and saw the camera.

The cops had a different attitude after the video was shown on the news.

It was odd because me and a friend just ran to the store to buy parts for his bike and for some reason that day I decided to wear my full body armor. They actually had to lift the bus off my bike, it was jammed under the axle.

Nice one man, it's good when the system actually works like it theoretically should!

Here's another good pic.

ouchhh!

Don't you hate having to leave your bike wrecked? It's like I want to stroke her gas tank and tell her 'everything will be okay, your going to a better place. With twisties than never end, and roads with no speed limits!'

When I went down I went through a median and into oncoming traffic at like 50+ I was ejected from the bike and the bike went through some tree branches (that high in the air) and then hit this truck that was coming at me. I pretty much rolled into the street, stood up immediately and walked over to my bike. People were walking over to me like 'holy fuck dude you okay!' with a look on their face like they were talking to a ghost.

My buddy drove by (he also rides sport bikes) and didn't know it was my bike at the time. He thought the dude who wrecked it was dead. Turns out the dude wasnt dead, it was me and I was very much alive lol

Check out these wind reports from that day! I went down a little before 7. I was coming into a turn and was being pushed so hard I wasnt able to complete the turn and was finally gusted into the curb, & through the gravel median.

I tried to battle the 'inability to control vehicle at speed' ticket. I had shown how the police report was incorrect as far as the turn, made it look like I drove straight trough, which was not true.I showed the wind reports that indicated 55+mph gusts that actually ripped trees and cacti from the ground. All that and I still lost because the judge said, "a man was in here last week who's tire exploded on the freeway. He was able to control his motorcycle and avoid an accident. You too should have." - - Like what the fuck does that have to do with my situation??

Holy fuck man thats good you were wearing all your gear!

I went down on my bike doing atleast 65 wearing nothing but a t shirt and shorts. It was the day after I bought it and I was ripping around in my yard to get the feel for it (Im just glad it was on dirt and not the highway or gravel) and the guy I bought it from didnt tighten the front axel bolt when he changed the brakes so the front rim fell halfway off and sent me flying across the ground. The bike ended up landing on my ankle which kinda fucked it up and my elbow had no skin left on it lol but im super lucky thats all that happened.

I'll eventually get another someday. I'm looking now towards custom choppers since I'm not that into cruisers but I like the flashiness of a good looking bike.
