@ first I tied it down with twine and screws, but have since switched to chopsticks and twine lol it seems to work quite well.

Well thats a great way to learn. The more you experiment and try different new things the more you will learn, and figure out what works best for your grow.

thanks kratose. i have around 16 on one plant and about 10 on my other one.... the only reason my plants look so good is b/c of all the great ppl on RIU. ya quantum i started to use those wooden bamboo scewers. they hold up well. thanks kratose for stopping by. +rep to you for those kind words!

HA HA HA thats hlarious. especially if your high! cant wait to see some more pics........ i guess i just got lucky with the 16 colas. i did the same thing to both plants. the plant with less colas has much thicker stems though. have you evr grown n e kratose. here goes a few pics. i dont have the best camera but it gets the job done.

Have I ever grown what? Marijuana in general Or AK48? If your asking if I grown Mj ofcourse I have. I have not grown AK48 but last year I grew AK47. Not sure I have any pics of it. I do however have some pics of my Afgan Kush and my White Widow. Ill post em up so you can see.
The Afgan Kush I topped and let it grow like a bush, but the White Widow I wanted to just let it go with one big cola. Check it out.

Lol thanks man. Yeah I been growing MJ off and on since I was 17. (Im 27 now) The past 3 years I have been growing non stop except this summer I had a spider mite problem and had to shut down for 2 months. Since then all has been well, no pest problems.
Yeah man that White Widow is something else. Very strong. Looks beautiful growing. It looks like its covered in ice there are so many trichomes. As for the Afgan Kush, it was a very smelly strain. Stuck up the whole grow room and most of my place. It was sweet to the taste. The White Widow didn't stink as much.
Here are a few more pics. Sometimes they don't upload in the correct order but the HUGE ones are Afgan Kush, Told ya they grow like a bush, and the other pics are some close ups of the White Widow.

you werent lyin. that Afgan bush is somethin else how many colas were on that bitch? im seriously thinkin about growin the white widow next. that bud lookslike its thicker than a can of coke. i got 5 more ak-48 seeds but after seein them pics that seems like the route to go..... what kind of light are you using? after this grow im thinking about going the 400w hps route. my space can hold 4 big pots. i can let them get about 3 feet tall thats why i LST'd these girls.

I am using a 400W HPS with a Hortilux bulb. (30% more blue spectrum plus a extra 5K lumens) I have no idea how much cola's were on it at the end. Im guessing around 30 or more. It was a huge yielder. I got about 6 ounces per plant. They were vegging for awhile. But at the time when I was growing those Afgan Kush's I had a total of 700W of HPS running.
The white widow cola was very dense and big. Its a very good smoke. I think you will be happy with your AK48. The AK47 was really good. Grew really fat calyx's
Here are some more pics.
You see that water bottle? Its bigger and fatter then a coke can. So you can get a idea of how big the cola was. And again, my camera just doesn't do these buds justice. Wish I had a better one so you could really see the crystals covering the bud. The buds in my hand were cured for over a month. In the end I cured them for 2 months.

the amber color comes out a lot durring curing. whats the biggest difference you notice in cured bud compared to non-cured bud? my goal is to be smoking some "cured" ak-48 on christmas. i think everything is gonna work out just right. dont know how big of a pot head you are but i bet that big ass bud lasted u a while!!! im using cfl's so i hope i dont get loose buds. ive seen some really good cfl grows but that is always in the back of my mind.

The biggest differences I notice with buds that have been cured long and proper is the taste. Its very tasty and the smoke is much smoother. And your right, the color really comes out when its cured nicely. Also the buds don't look as fluffy when cured. Oh, and I can't forget about the potency. The longer its cured, the more potent it is it seems. I like to cure mine for at least a month before I really start dipping into it. But I really like to cure for about 2 months.
Well, AK48 takes about 9 weeks. You can pick it at week 8, but if you let it go a week or two extra, it really starts packing on the trichomes and oils. My White Widow I let go about 9 1/2 and its was perfect.
You should be able to have some cured bud by Christmas. How long has it been flowering now? Yeah CFL's to tend to produce fluffy buds. i know most people like to smoke buds that are dense, but fluffy buds can be good too. The original Afgan grows pretty fluffy and its badass bud.
I smoke about a half ounce a week. Sometimes a little less. Yeah that bud did last me quit awhile. I was chipping it away for about 2 weeks. I had 2 buds that size. That bud was probably the size of 2 coke cans. Maybe a little bigger, Definitely fatter.
Do you ever plan on upgrading to a HPS light?

Looking good Quantum, is this your first grow? I bet you can't wait to see your first sign of pistols. You must be very excited. I still get excited when I see my plants starting to bud, and I been growing off and on for about 10 years.
Right now I am growing OG Kush. I will be putting it into flowering Tomorrow actually. So us 3 are going to be harvesting around the same time. We will have to keep in touch. I need to get a new USB cable for my camera so I can take some pics. The OG Kush was not vegged by me though. I had to take the plants off a buddies hands. He ran out of room, and offered me the plants. I just couldn't pass up the chance of getting some OG kush. I haven't smoke it in awhile so it will be a treat.
If I can give you both rep again I will, just because you guys are good peoples! And because were all basically flowering at the same time. Give or take a week.
Ahh it won't let me do it yet, says I have to spread it around before giving you more rep. Well I guess I gotta do that then! As soon as Im able to give you guys more rep you got it!

Yeah its my first grow, I'm extremely excited man. I've been taking all these pics with my droid(phone) and they seem to be coming out well. I wish I had a friend that had ran out of room and passed me some nice plants hahaha. That's sweet man and yeah, no way you can pass that shit up lol
I smoke about an ounce to 1.5oz a week and really a month or 2 months to sure? Damn that means I can't smoke this til like next year hahaha and yeah dude for sure keep in touch, love to talk it up when I'm stoned.

You don't need to cure it for 2 months. You can get away with a 2 week cure, its just a longer cure is better. Damn a ounce a week. I would probably smoke that much if I could grow a ounce a week. I refuse to buy weed. Especially the crap around here. I live on the east coast so there is shit for weed here. And if you do happen to come across something good. Say OG kush for instance, its about 450 a ounce. I could get it for 300 but still. Im a huge pothead so I would def smoke more if I had it to smoke. By next summer I will have a shit load so I probably will be able to smoke that much, and by next outdoor harvest season I will be swimming in buds. Doing a outdoor grow next year. This year I had to shut down during the summer do to spidermites, So I was out of weed for a few months. (besides what my friend would hook me up with) But now I will have a harvest every month or so. So I will be stocking up on meds. Im glad I ran into you 2. You guys are cool peoples. I always enjoy talking to fellow growers about growing.
