i would take all the bigger leaves off. you can leave the small leaves coming out of the bud on.. but everyone has their own way

i would get the leaves at the stem.. the big leaves dont really get you high.. but shit if you plant on selling it to your friend leave as much leaves on them as possible, some people wont buy leafy weed tho.. its all up to you man

I know they need to come off when I trim them, I was just wondering if it's best to get as many off sooner rather than later, which way is easier and/or has the best results?
Thanks everybody!!

you can do whatever you want. if you wanna sell/smoke stemmy weed then go ahead. Its good to leave a little leaf on in a less humid area, to help prolong the drying process then just trim the off before you cure, but take all the LARGE leaf off before you hang. There are several different ways and variations to each method and many debates on post harvest processes and it could go on forever, so just figure out what works best for you. over time youll be like a pro

its best to leave the "sugary" leaves on and trim the right before you start the jar cure, to release terpenes into the jar causing it to smell danker.

I don't want the weed stemmy in the end, and I did cut off most of the leaves that didn't look super sticky. Most of the leaves that are left are sugary and on the bud. Maybe the next batch I'll trim more and then see which I prefer in the long run.

yeah man .. get those big leaves out down to the stem. As pretty as they are, your not gonna need them for anything but your own personal use.
I usually take off a bit too much IMO when i trim. I take of the tips of some of the sugar leaves and chop any leaves that haven't collected a substantial amount of resin.

Ive found it's best to trim all the leaves entirely off the bud before you let it hang dry. The more leaves you leave on, the more chloropyll you're trapping inside the bud.
agreed. big time preference for wet trim as a trimmer and as a buyer/seller. getting a really tight trim is easier when the bud is wet. but that is for peas, not personal.

doesn't really matter as long as you get it clean before curing.

i have a trim article here: http://mattrize.blogspot.com/2010/10/first-post-trimming-with-matt-rize.html

it has some tips for long-term trim projects, and making trimming easier on the body. good work!

ok this might be true, but i beg to differ that its a better route to take. ive found in my studies that wen trimming your buds (as u can tell if chopped before) wen they are still wet during the dry they loose those beautiful terpens, the basic 'smell makers' of ur buds. they r located inside of your trim. if u trim (not the fan leafs, take them bitches OFF as soon as chopped) after u have finish a NICE ELONGATED DRY (i dry for about 8 to 9 days) and then u give it that trim, i beleif u will be impressed with your findings too.

YES, i DO beleif its makes for an easier trim also....no SUPER STUCK scissors!

the elongated dry lets those terpens settle into the buds nice and well. so wen u do trim and jar, them terpens dont go escaping into a whole bunch of no where. just a couple pennies.

agree that dry-trim with slower dry is best... just my 2cents on massive trim jobs is that wet is way easier.

i find it easier to trim to manicured product, otherwise, when it hangs those leaves will stick to the bud and then you gotta peel each one back to cut it off. this isnt a problem if its a plant or 2, but if it's multiple plants or a lot of nug on a few plants it becomes a pain in the ass. but thats how i do it and to each his own. looks good bro.

OK, so u spent so many months vegin, and SOO many months flowerin, just to be worried about an xtra hour or 2 or trimming?? had to ask that. but i strongly beleif the outcome of those extra couple days dryin and the xtra couple hours trimming u will be greatly more satisfied in the first 2 days of your cure tan your 14th with the other method.

TO THE BEGGINERS, do a side by side! trim some nugs up after u chop, and..dont trim some up, see wat u think for your self. do listen to my word for it or anyone elses, UTILIZE.

everyone troms differently when i hang my plants to dry i like to remove only the fan leaves and burnt tips.. then after dry i finish frimming and save all the leaf for whatever..

but if i dry on a hammock then i well trim all the leaf and remove buds from stems to help dry faster..
