Ugly Betty's official update - LOL

Looking at the photos you'll see I have problems. Nice probs maybe, but still problems.

First, This is like the 2nd time in my life where FIM meant F!, I Missed! :wall:
Second, where's the flowers?
Third (and the real biggie) - Bud sites. They're growing right into the fan leaves! I can think of a few ways to get around this. First for an experiment, I'm going to see if I can draw them out with brighter side lighting. I'll only go a couple days on this and act from there.
Fourth, as you see from the last photo,,, I'm coming close to being out of room! :-(

I figure I'm about at the 1/2 way point. I'm going to need to pay attention for the next 2 weeks for sure. I simply can't wait too much longer to act on the above concerns.

YAHOO CAGE! (I'm lovin it! :-P)

PS;
I see 2 other probs here also.
1) this bitch is stinking already!
2) added lights are adding more heat than I'd like

add a light and up your ventilation, she's looking great man!

at what node did you FIM?
Shown w/ 6 CFLs totalling 214 actual watts (not rated) To me, that's an excessive amount for any 1 plant. Considering I could of done this with only 1 75watt HPS. That'll change before I do this again.

Ventalation is set. I just need to hurry that cruise ship coming from China (Ebay). Have the upgraded fans. Waiting on the grills and speed controlers. The whole back willbe replaced on the cab when I do. Along with the passive intake and filter system.

This was never intended to grow in flower. Small, lightly filtered, Best w/ smaller CFLs for seedlings and start of veg. My closet with 250 w and all the frills is my flower spot.

Honesly, don't remember where the FIM was taken. Believe it was 3rd week-ish(?). Was early because I was greatly concerned about "time" and working within the parameters as best I figured. Small cab was a consideration. At the time I was in-the-middle, and up-to-my-arse with a dry /cure / clones / and starts of flower. All at the same time! - LOL Plus this. :-P I was litterally out of room.
I want to say 3rd true node. But wouldn't swear to it. I know it was tiny. :-P

:-P This whole thing has been a "Hoot" on this end. :-P:-P:weed:

You know,,, It sucks being addicted to "grow". I'm the same with the garden, fruit trees, etc. :wall: ;)

She looks good cannon. Have you tried LST'ing her?
Not yet. Definately a option in a couple days. :-P

May sound strange, But considering lsting the fan leaves just to get them (temporarily) out of the way.
May be sneaky (LOL) but I'm hoping to get the side shoots to catch up with the main. Folks say they don't take well to training. By leaving the center cola in a little darker area, I' expecting it to slow and have the sides make for a even canopy when flower really happens. See if it works. LOL

the folks that have said that must not have done it correctly. autos take wonderfully to training, i've learned that's it all in the timing. they are unlike photoperiod based plants they stop growing, we all know that, so you have to take advantage of the perfect timing (i would say that's now for you Canon). try and lst when you've reached optimal vertical height, yet there is still some growth left. take the main stalk and tie it down, and the left over growth will go to the branches... pretty simple plant dynamics

i've had an auto that a trained at just the right time and the branches reached up just as tall as the main stem

edit: and if you do it too soon, you will stop the plant from growing all together. you want it to be about 60-75% into it's growth

What growth? Before hairs, flowers, harvest???

:-P Couple more days. Just a couple more. I keep looking and say, "Shit, I couldn't of missed!" (FIM) Underlighting the center may have slowed it? IF it should develpoe, the intent was / is to lst the 4(?) prime colas. Unfortunately, my hopes deminsh.
Still, couple more days so I can figure a strategy. ;-) (Like I have a clue. :-P)

Looking great guys!

I am a bit worried about mold myself. Hot and humid here. I might get some Afghan autos for round two to help me with this heat and humidity. I have extensive experience with Afghani and Hindu non-autos and would love to try an auto version of them to sample the smoke.

Looks like round one can come down to the wire.

Remember, round two starts December 10th! Even if it over lapse round one a hair.

too soon as in the seedling phase, once you've reached optimal height do it, you will change the flow of hormones. by growth i mean upwards growth, the plant will still go through all the phases of it's life if you do it too soon, it will just be small. idk if that answers your question

I am using my videocamera for this next set because it is more convenient than using my "prosumer" camera.

And besides...I don't want your guys confidence to get to high. ;)

For a indica dominant you sure stretched the shit out of it! ;-)

Looks good. Attitude says that's a strong hitter. I don't see 14" on that gal.

You better pass the bowl around when it's ready.:-P

I have no idea why it is so stretchy. I have kept the light less than an inch and a half at all times.

Also, I am going to stop buying seeds from ShortStuff seed bank. They are not that knowledgeable about their product. I will be going through White Label seed bank from now on if I get more Snowryders.

White Label says:
"Snow Ryder's final height is more or less pre-determined, with most plants finishing around 90-120cm."

Seems nobody knows why shes stretching. Could be anything. I will ride it out see how she develops.

Looks good though, you still using cfls? How much do you have on there now?

Yes. I added another 85w so now I am running two 85w bulbs on her.

Dammit Canon! You gave me a frekin complex. I cannot find any info on this strain to see if stretching is normal. I know stretching is normal at the beginning of flowering but still...

I am hoping its not because my room is 87f constantly. I don't think its the heat because I grow in this heat in the summer. However, I do not know this strain...at all.

the stretch will stop abruptly, and really, you're a fair bit into flowering and i doubt there is much growth left.
in fact, the third picture in your last update tells me everything, once you see that fuzz there will be no more new leafs coming out from the top of the plant, and upwards growth is mostly over.

HA! Ya here that Canon?

/flex

:p

Seriously though, I too thought she was a little stretchy compared to my other strain. Maybe its just the strain or an auto trait?

Could it be the Ruderalis? Them I know Zip about. Not sure if I've even seen one.
LOL! Looks like it has tons of potential. Just not what I would normally expect to see with a indi dom.
I thought it may have fit the descripion of the Great White Shark / AK47 Lowrider strains. (Med heigth, short/fast flower, etc.)
But, I know squat about autos. Only guessing & learning. :-P:leaf:
Keep at her and I'm sure she'll burn good.:weed:
