Anyone ever have weed that isn't cured, yet smells DANK?

So I just got an quarter of some Y2K. I heard this guy say, "it was just pulled a few weeks ago"... like thats a good thing? Dude don't you know shit takes 2-3 weeks of CURING to reach full potentcy?


Anyway, the shit looked great, and smelled FIRE so I assumed it had a good cure.


So now, I'm sitting here, trying to vaporize a bowl of it and i'm like not getting that much vapor (which happens when it isn't fully cured) so I'm wondering if it really was just cut 2 weeks ago :wall:


So, has anyone ever heard of weed that is still not fully cured that smells FIRE? I had thought that it pretty much needed a cure to be dank, but the guy's comment, and the lack of vaporizing and it remaining green after a lot of vaporizing leads me to believe it's still fresh.

Ya I've had it before... had some super fresh buds that still smelled really good...

Who knows man some strains smell like hay and some strains REQUIRE a cure... and others dont.. its weird... but ya its probably still fresh bud man... let it dry out a bit and try smoking / vaping it again

Yeah man, I have some 2 day old bud right here next to me and it stinks up my whole living room if I open the jar.

oh well. Yeah i've had it out drying, still feels squishy and smells slightly grassy

Ive never harvested bud that smells like "wet grass or hay" even right off the plant or throughout the drying process. Probably has to do with how much foliage is removed and temp/humidity

its really all about the trichs and not the smell. i've had weed that reeks, but didn't due the deed. the thc acid needs to decarboxylize. it breaks down into thc, which eventually breaks down into cbd, which eventually decays to cbd. you need to catch this windows for the desired effect of the high. a lot of growers chop early because they wanna start the next round. if it smells like grass, its probably really fresh. it hasn't had a chance to dry and cure properly. i always check my shit with a magnifying glass. the truth is in the trichs. educate yourself a little bit, and you wont get played again. you can call bullshit, after whipping out your glass.

Yeah there wasn't a great trim to it either, I had to go in and trim it more lol.

It's not that I got played or anything. I know about all that, which is why i mentioned it won't be full potency. I was getting a larger bag from a friend, and getting a little of my own pics below still got me vaped as fuck in the volcano. It should be a good consistency after a little drying and curing ( trimmed off most the leaves in the pics)

i actually just got a quarter of some outdoor "homegrown". the guy must have literally chopped it, threw it in a box, dried it and bagged it for sale. shit had full sugar and fan leaves like no one even attempted to trim it and some of it was flat like it was dried on a flat surface. definately wasn't cured and the guy clearly takes no pride. long story short i trimmed the shit myself and ended up with a whole gram of leaf out of a quarter but the shit is fucking dank as hell and evenly dried. some of the best bud i've had all year. i swear when it breaks up it smells just like super lemon haze but it doesn't look like the slh i grew. then again i trimmed and cured mine but i digress. this stuff would have been absolutely legendary if the guy would have trimmed and cured it. instead it's just plain ol' dank. i'm not complaining though.

Ive gotten weed that was less than that...It was still on the branch. It hadnt been cured yet, but it was fully dried.

Shit smelled my whole house up, and was very potent.

I dont get why you said it takes 2-3 weeks for full potency...Weed can be extremely smelly and strong just after its dried, or after its been cured for 3 months...its all relative to the strain and how it was grown.

So I've lost about 1g off a 7g sack from drying it LOL. A nug that weighed like 3.4 now weighs 2.8.

But oh well, some REAL nice shit that I got a good deal on so it comes out even bongsmilie
