Did you hear that lettuce technique from a Meth Tweeker. Lettuce is super wet and takes ages to dry and even then it gets all gross and mouldy and takes ages to dry out so without a doubt leave it out of anywhere your going to dry. Drying is straight and simple if you follow a few basic guide lines, theres no magical things you can do to make the thc go to the buds, boiling the roots, hanging it upside down(stoner logic), etc... Just dry it out. What i do is cut each individual bud off the vegetative limb, i trim all of the fan leaves, only the big one surrounding the bud not the leaves that grow from inside the bud, the reason is that moisture leaves the cola via the leaves if you completely cut off all of the leaves it will take longer for the bud to dry out and further more while the uds rying out the smaller leaves protect the bud. i hang them up individually, i find this dries them out quicker and they maintain their shape opposed to just being lazy and leaving all your bud in a tray, aside from drying in a weird shape alot of the bud ends up falling off due to human error, like constantly picking up the box and buds to check if theyre dry, if you hang them up all you need to do is squeeze baby, dry it out until about 20% of the moisture is left inside of the cola(just judge it, experience and logic come into play here). Drying is only half of the process, curing is the second. If youv put effort into growing a plant you might as well go the whole mile and finish the process. When your satisfied that the bud is dry enough, buy yourself some GLASS jars(glass is air tight and to perform a good cure you need air tight containers). Place the colas in the jars and close them, check in the first stages that the bud doesnt get moist again, if it does take it out and continue drying, by now they should be dry enough to place on a tray with out disturbing anything, keep the process up untill dry enough to put back in the jars(be careful, this is a stage where most growers en up drying out there produce to much and thus locking in the chloroform taste they almost can melt fillings). If your wondering what this curing process is in aid of and if your going to ask the question "cant i just skip it out?", the answer is you can but the effect and taste of your produce wont be the best it can be. Curing helps break down certain compounds in the colas, to cut a very long story pretty short putting the bud in a airtight container helps the bud decompose in a way that all the "raw" compounds of the plant "mature" into smokeable produce. If you dont cure it you would probably not feel the full effect of the high offered and the taste would be very different. Open the containers once a day, fan out the air inside of the jars, gasses from the plant are emited and have to be exhausted once a day. After a week and a half test a bud out and if your satisfied with they effect that it gives and with its taste then your in the money, again this whole growing thing is all about experience, in growing, drying, curing and smoking(why i say smoking is that you could be growing a very strong strain and dont like how hard it hits after a full cycle of grow, provided that the plant has produced enough bud, you can harvest a limb every second day and dry them out, by harvesting one plant in this fashion and recording the results you can tell exactly when to harvest that strain for the desired effect, if you let it ripen to the end of its life the high is usually a heavy stoned while harvesting a little bit ahead of time the high tends to be more of an uplifting high. its got to do with the ripening period.) Realize the finer points of your grow, a stitch in time saves 9 in this game.
