is it legal for cops to use minors to setup drug dealers

so heres the story. several years ago, i illegally sold marijuana. i was 19 at the time. a girl i worked with had a friend who wanted some weed. little did i know, her friend had plans to work with cops to set me up on a controlled buy. she was only 16 at the time. normally i wouldnt sell drugs to kids and im not saying what i did was right but she was only 3 years younger than me so i thought no big deal really. so i met her in a parking lot and sold her a bag. 6 months later the sheriff comes to my house and says i have a warrant for the manufacturing and delivery of the controlled substance marijuana. they wanted me to narc and all that bullshit. i lied and said i'll see what i can do to hopefully make them think i was trying to help. after meeting with my lawyer and reading the police report, then thinking about it for days, it all came back to me. i remembered everything about the drug deal. i plead guilty to possession, a much lesser charge. and since i was never in trouble with the law in my life, the judge was nice and dropped it down to conditional release, basically a slap on the wrist. although i had to do a shitload of community service instead of jail time. normally with a conditional you dont get any jail or community service but since mine was originally much more serious they had to be a little harsher than usual for the same charge.

now what im getting at is the law enforcement group that set me up used a minor to make a controlled buy. what if i was like some hardcore gangster that had a gun and seen the wire and killed her. of coarse it would partially be law enforcements fault. especially for using a minor. was this illegal for them to use a minor? the law enforcement group is known as upset or upper peninsula substance enforcement team. they are liars and dirty cops. if this was illegal for them to use a minor, how would i go about getting this information public? i mean i would even testify in court against upset if it went that far. these asshole cops really need to be off the streets. now im not saying what i did was right, but it wasnt right of them to use a minor. most minors are not smart enough to really know what they're doing. kinda like brainwashing them. thanks in advance for any info. anyone wanna know the narcs name just pm me. i'll gladly tell and she lives in lower mi now near detroit.

It's sad to say, but it seems almost likely that it's not illegal because if they set up a controlled buy the narc would be in the case file somewhere, has to be. A lawyer would find that and eat it up so I doubt they would do it, if it was that dirty.

it's actually very common for them to take that long to arrest people who were setup in a controlled buy. i cant say i know the reason, however im assuming it is because they want you to forget who you sold drugs to. however they didnt realize that i have an extremely good vivid long term memory. it's actually even more common for cops to wait about a year to arrest drug dealers. a friend of mine years ago also got busted and they waited almost a full year. another guy im not friends with but know of, they actually waited over a year. back when me and my friend both got busted(they were at seperate times and about 2 years apart) they had a year to prosecute because of the statue of limitations. i dont know for sure but i heard now they changed it and and can wait up to 2 years now.

yeah i know that this was 7 years ago lol. but now im realizing they used a minor and society would probably frown upon that. i would like to have upset disappear and am willing to testify against them and even admit i illegal sold drugs to one of their narcs whom was a minor at the time. yes it was a lesson learned. never sell drugs unless it's someone you know very well(not friends of friends, not ppl you just know of). now im legal so i have no worries. i only sell to medical patients and caregivers. i have too much on the line now a days to risk anything. awesome job, awesome friends, excellent legal pot. i would never sell drugs like i used to again. but you know it would really be nice to get back at those cocksucking dirty pigs in upset. i seriously wish they would all die

Probably uncool what they did, but who's policing the police? Maybe the important point is that we shouldn't be selling to little kids. We shouldn't be selling at all. We should share the shit. As long as there is a dirty black market the plant is going to have a bad name. IMO.

wasnt a little kid. she was fat and ugly and 16. she looked more like she was around 20. i still remember her fat man hands grabbing the bag and handing me money. this was also before mi had medical laws. also i made a shit load of money at the time. it was something i just couldnt pass up. i did learn though to trust no one and since i never sold to anyone that i didnt know real good. and like i said in an earlier post, i only sell to legal people now. too much on the line for me to risk.

I was under the impression that narcotics officers want to obtain search warrants and make an arrest as quick as possible after a controlled buy because they know you are likely to have more drugs on you still. I guess every situation could be different though. I'm not saying I don't believe you, I was just thinking maybe you were leaving something out of the story.

More likely....the cops were lazy and actually took 6 months to push the papers. IMO.

can't agree with you more brotha. all cases have statue of limitation. certainly, this "petty" crime does not fit the profile as mention. the accused has mention the incident happen 7 years ago. put the 2 n 2 and you get = 0

selling marijuana in mi, no matter how small, is a 4 year felony. it is not a petty crime, it is very serious. however they almost always drop it to possession with a guilty plea. this is in upper mi. i dont know what they do in other states. i think you misunderstood me. january 2003 i sold a bag to a narc unknowingly. june 2003 i was arrested. august 2003 i was sentenced. the other dates were for other people that i know. sorry if it seemed confusing. what exactly are you talking about putting the 2 n 2 and getting 0? im not making anything up. if anything sounds unclear let me know and i will do my best to clear it. why would i waste my time making this shit up? for attention? im not asking anyone to believe me. i dont think i left anything out, but if anything seems confusing or contradicting, please address the issue before giving me a bullshit math equation. now that i think of it i did leave one thing out. my bail was 10% of $20,000, hows that for petty crime? however to tell the truth though i think they did either fuck up on my bail, or purposely made it higher than normal to try and scare me more. i say this because everyone else i know of who gets in trouble for selling has a bail of only 10% of $2,000. maybe they knew i had money, idk. yeah it was only a bag of weed, but selling a bag of weed is a felony and very serious.

and btw not all cases have a statue of limitation. murder is one example. most crimes do though. when i got busted at the time they had 1 year to prosecute me. i cant say for sure but i hear now they can wait 2 years. this is also in mi. other states im not so sure.

it actually wasnt a narcotics officer that arrested me. they are the ones that set me up along with the CI or confidential informant or the bitch that wore the wire. a cop from the sheriffs department arrested me(if you life out of city limits the sheriff's dept arrests you, not local city cops). he wasnt a narcotics officer, thats the group called upset. however most members of upset are cops. the sheriff's department cop that arrested me was just a simple cop doing his job because i had a warrant. when they arrested me i actually had a qp at my house that they didnt know about. but they were there to arrest me, not raid or search my house. besides that, it's very hard to get a warrant to raid a house if the house doesnt belong to the drug dealer. still possible though.
