how much light am i waisting by keeping hoods within 2 feet? seriously? my tallest plant as of yesterday was 5 foot 10 inches.. when they veg there lowered.. during flowering you dont because all 12,000 watts are being reflected... you need god dam uv glasses to walk inside of there... if i dont go inside with glasses ill be partially blind all night!!! hahaha no lie i cant see shit without glasses...

im not an angry person stop being foolish and think im angry !! i just love cannabis and cant stand when people have never expeirenced with an op of this size and power, and are foolish enough to tell me that my lights are at the wrong height? iv never once in my 20 years of expierencing (only in the growing aspect of cannabis) seen or heard of an operation at scales of 12,000 watts or more (inside of an enclosed room like mine) lower there entire lighting system ...

but regardless.. IM HAPPY I STARTED THIS THREAD, enjoying every second of it and am happy that everyones having funn... new pictures coming soon!!!

The Inverse Square Law - Intensity = light output/distance x 2

so lets say your 1000w watt is putting out 140,000 lumens

now at two feet it drops to 35,000

and at three feet it drops to 15,555

four feet its at 9999 and so on...

so you can see from that how inefficient your set up is.... ever inch matters, but your making up for this just by sheer numbers

tell me im wrong?

BUT DONT GET ME WRONG im subbed and i cant wait to see those buds
heres where what your not understanding.. yes a 1000 watt light does output 120,000 lumens but at a distance that is WAY to close to the plant. it produces lumens like that 7 inches from the plant. the optimal range is between 18-24' ..(all depends on cooling so on and so forth) so your "120,000" lumens isnt there .. your only geting 19,000 lumens... stop trying to bring up these laws and mumbo jumbo stuff to disprove something that you yourself has not delt with. (if u have im sorry i just made myself look dumb). once again corey thank you for subd'ing me :bigjoint: no disrespect or nothing intended just answering your statement 8)

first you have 15 yrs experience now 20 years holy shit I have never had 5 years go by so fast what the hell!?

I dunno may be a lil bs now means a lil be before & later? And if you have so much experience with these large grows than how come you just said you haven't got a electric bill yet..? to me that means you just started it...?

Sorry just my dumb ass thinking out loud again... lol

Dude I totally get what you are doing here....I too asked how far your lights are and you told me 3-4 feet( I scratched my head )....but now they are 2'....? That is allot better than 3-4 feet away but it is your op so...You say that they are not that far away...now.

But hey how else would you do it move the all the lights down or all the plants on boxes??? I see that you are allowing your plants to grow into the light that way you do not need to rearrange your whole room just for a few inches...lol Looks great man....everyone is just jealous...lol ME TOO!!! Peace

i was just answering that guys question no need to attack me and i wasnt implying you were an idiot....

hey im on your side here the only thing i posted was how much light your losing from having them that far away(at the time they were "3-4 feet away"). but like i said before you make up for that buy having so many lights. my only point was that it is inefficient. but if your getting a # a plant who cares how much your electric bill is.im here to educate not humiliate

i like your grow .. shit i wish i could go that big

im not hating just making you aware of what your talking about you keep saying different shit. the only reason you think im hating is because im not saying what you want to hear....just criticizing thats all and you cant handle the critique criticizing is another word for trying to help aka give advice. sorry your the man you know it all your ops the shit and theres nothing you can ever do to improve it what the f was i thinking?

your kidding yourself. mine looks better cosmetically and is much more efficient. i can move a rope up and down 20 times before you unwind yours and wind it back up.

Rzza, I am trying to get caught up in your journal and would like to know why so much perlite? Yeah I can overstand the "on top", but 50/50?

they grow so fast in it. im playing around in my veg room with a couple moms, their in 100% perlite. dude they thrive in that shit, i cat get enough LOL

i like to water them often, every time they dry out real good and then get a good wash, you see a robust growth. perlite allows it to happen more often. its just my view on it. its not written down anyplace that ive seen.

Question~ What nutes are you using, like for hydro, synthetics, or organics?
Also I would like to ask if you let the roots go dry, which yeah being in 100% perlite there gonna, ummm (
:eyesmoke:
) what do you think the fresh air and cold is doing for them?

im running the cns17 line. it includes (all one part) grow, bloom and ripe. also i use cal/mag supplement. everything is cheap and made by botanicare. i dont think im bringing in fresh air at all. my room is sealed with a window a/c. ambient temps stay at 70, i never checked at the canopy but its cool there also, i would imagine mid 70s.

But the air even at room temp is bad for the roots. ok granted, your grow is sweet, but when you harvest look at the roots and see if they are healthy white in color with lots of tiny hairs, or green and stumpy.

i dont understand what you mean because my roots arent exposed to the air at all.
