We all began somewhere!!!! Anyways... yes get different soil.... Go to the frequently asked questions..... But in the end here is what you need light...Medium...and water!!!!!
If you need to know something specific IM me i AM MORE THAN GLAD TO HELP AS THOSE HAVE GLADLY HELPED MEE!!!

Dont get me wrong people, Im so ready to help this guy, Why do u think im still posting on his thread? Im just saying if he wants to get antsy/pantsy about me and my advice, i will tell him how I feel about his shit. Its not like im not trying to help him. some people need a reality check to realize they cant grow a full fledged plant under their conditions. All im saying is im not trying to hate, I just get frusterated with people and I appologize.

Ps: I havent been there. I did 5 years of intense research b4 I even attempted to set something up.

Right on, thats awesome. I think he may have been talking to me anyway? He says these are grow lights at 120 volts each. I dont know what the wattage is, but Im gonna do a search for him, and try to figure it out. :)

yea man, i wasn't even talking about you, she said that i can wait to save them, and read first... when im sure most of that stuff I have already read is on there. If i didn't need help i wouldn't be begging you guys for help... I appreciate anything people can do to help :D

Hey rocket girl,

NICE EYES!!!, Just so we can all be nice. Dude, you do need better soil that does look like beuty bark to me. Get the lights close and I find that when they are seedlings that you dont really have to get to close, maybe 6 inches away. Then as they start to develope more you can move the lights closer to tighten up the nodes, also go into the grow faq's and read up. I know alot but I ask for help time to time.

well see it was weird, because i would add water to the soil before i planted the germinated seeds, and then I would go back like 2-3 days later and the seedlings would be all shrivvled and brown, and dead looking.. so I began to water every day, and then the other ones started growing, but after being sprouted for a little less than a week, to a week, they are starting to lose the fibers around the stem, stop holding thenselves up,and starting to lose their pigmentation. my lights are only about 3-6 inches away from the plants, and have been the same way from the starting of the planting, (except for the plant that sprouted first, it was about 6-10 inch away from the lights)

I appologize for being an a-hole. i really thought u were responding to my post. I just dont really like it when strangers and guys who think they can roll try to know it all. Anyways let me help u bro. fluorescent lights need to be at least 2-4 inches from the plant. You need 100 real watts per plant to be able to flower. Do you have a fan blowing in the grow area? You need fans gently blowing air on all your plants at all times(and also an exhaust fan to suck all the air out once every 5 minutes at least. proper airflow strengthens stems and creates hardier plants(bigger stems, hold bigger buds). In just my opinion, you sound like your really pumped about your plants. Which is fucking A-rod dont get me wrong, But the #1 mistake by newbs is......loving their plants to death. You think, think think think worry worry worry worry etc etc about your plants and you could end up loving them to death. Ive seen many newbs do it. I appologize again for being nasty earlier, i just thought u were talking to me and i appologize.

where do i start...

damn, i didnt know breathing produced that much co2. im ganna start sleeping with my plants. lol JKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK like Rocketgirl said. leave your girls alone and give them more light. like she said the 100 watts eqivilant is equal to a incandesents' output. u want to refer to the real wattage. i think a 26w is somwehre near a 100 incandesent. a 46w cfl is a 150 incanesent. somthing like that, i hate cfls, useless. but always go by the small number on the packaging for watts.
CFL's are by far not useless, the cfl crowd would eat you alive for that. Vegging and Clones love cfls. very cheap. Growing indoors your veg time should never be too long unless it's crazy stressful, in which case your messing up anything, which to me makes a MH a little inefficient, optimal maybe, but inefficient.

I don't have time to read that shit, i need to save my babys!

everyewhere I read it said that the plants need co2, and that is why you need to breathe on them (i have heard like 7 different people say to play and sing them a song, or to talk to them) since it realeses co2 and its good for the plants....

wtf! im so confused :(
you are wrong. people do that because they are bored, you dont need to breathe on your plants, co2 is already in the air, one person breathing is not going to effect anything.

the lights i am using, are the lights of america indoor grow lights, that you can get at walmart for 8 bucks each, and i am using two of them, and the bulb color is white,i can get some pictures if anyone needs to see them
The lights you bought are trash. You need to listen to rocketgirl, and go buy the CFL's and keep them 1 inch away, then you wont have the long sinplde stems on some of your seedlings and no stretching, and they will be getting more of the light they need than from the shit lights you bought. water when they are dry. move them from those cups soon as well.

Alot of people are dogging his soil, my soil looked the same, when you water the bark kind of "floats" to the top and it tooks real barky, but it's not. it helps the soil to be more airy as well, which cannabis likes.

As i said, get the lights, water when try at the bottoms, i hope you hve a hole in the bottom of those cups. transplant soon, the lights need to be at 1 inch (NOT THE ONES YOU BOUGHT) but the cfls you NEED to get.

no one can tell you when to water, you water when dry. moisture meters are 5$-10$ if it's too difficult for you to tell.

he included the one tip i forgot, a constant, or long period during the day of a gentle breeze from a fan will help in stem strength and heat from lights.

p.s. you can flower a plant with 1watt of light(in the right spectrums, of course..) you just wont get desireable results. watts is also not a good way to "Gauge" light..

correct in a sense, i dont think 1 watt would support a plant, but i def see what ur saying. also correct me if im wrong. but lumen intensity is the best way to gauge light coverage/penetration.

well rockegirl gave me a website to check into, and I looked at it and the guys on there (well a couple of them) had the same "lights of america" brand (model 7020) that i am using two of, and they said that their shit is working fine...
and yes, I have had a large fan (on low settings) going through my growing room, even before I started growing. (and yes, I water them once a day, since I set my finger down in the soil, (about 1.5-2.5 inch deep) and every day they are not moisturey so i water them a little, and it appears (only for a short period of time) that they are "floating" and yes, I have some A) gravel, and B) holes in the bottoms of them, and I was planning on puting them into a cut opened gallon of milk jug, with the same soil, and same pebbles on the bottom as I used for the cups

but then they started to look like they were dieing...

*question, since plants are living organisms like humans, and animals... and they have a somewhat long life/growing span, if they look like shit one day (or for a couple of days) and then you fix the problem, can they still turn out fine?

that is up to debate in my mind, most dont understand lumens is morely for the measuring of light visible by humans. but it is extremely more accurate than watts. lumens will measure light the plants cannot use as well as what they can.

yes, they can recover very well. cannabis can recover from more than you think, alot of us have learned that. im sure most of us have had the hps fall on your plants, i've had cats bushwack mine, and have had them come back, of course they can still die, but if they make it the first 24 hours, you're usually good. your plants, from the pics, look very rescoverable.

As for your last ?. I dunno about looking like shit. I only look like shit the next day after a 1/2gallon of whiskey. I sure dont give that to my girls(to greedy)lol/ but i guess u could say that thwy might look like shit one day and be better the next. anyways, the Sun produces 10,000 lumens per sq foot. i have 2 600w hps's and a 250wmh in a 36(9x4) sq foot area. that give me 5500 lumens per sq foot. there are much more accurate ways of measuring light intensity. but i think lumens per sq foot is a good flatline.

yes, lumens per sqf is a very good flatline.

ok, so I have officially made the lights a lot closer, instead of 3-4 inch away (and 4-7) for one of my plants) I now have 6 that are about .5-2 inch away and one that is 3-6 inch away (but in a larger pot) I have just got done watering them (since i haven't in the past 2 days) and I am probably going to bed, unless anyone else has any input on what I could also do to help them even more.

I wont even get into how light loses its intesity quadruplefold as its moves farther away from the source. but it sounds good man. just know you have 3+ months of buying lights and equipment to make this happen. 1-2 cfls wont do it.

just make sure they light is not too hot being that close - since i dont know of this bulb you speak of. if it burns your hand at the same level - move it.
