Ive been running into a few disagreements here lately about when the 1st day of flower actually is. Ive always considered the first day of flower the day i see pistols other than the preflower pistols, not the day i turn my timer to 12/12. I would like to know what everyone else thinks.

Your method is correct, it takes a vegging plant a little while after the switch to 12/12 to go into flowering.

i always count from 12/12 but i believe the plant is not officially flowering until it shows it flowers. So technically its not flowering until those pistils pop out but stating a time from 12/12 makes life much easier if you ask me. People should be smart enough to take into consideration the fact that it does take time for the plant to start to bloom.

... are we there yet?

... are those pistils that I can see, maybe, or maybe not yet, maybe I'll leave it another day before I say it is flowering - or did I miss it and it was yesterday?

For my own records (and that is all that matters) I count flowering from the time that I switch to 12/12 - it's the only way to have any accuracy.

cadeneli, I feel you are correct. I also go with grumpy old dreamer's method for the same reason he does.... accuracy. i don't really use it for much other than a reference. I make a projected harvest day then when i see it pop up on my calender i know it's close andto start checking trics.

I'm curious though... when do the seed companies consider it flowering?

Thanks for the input fellas. I mean, I guess it doesn't really even matter. We're gonna harvest when the trichomes tell us to. I just see alot of people posting threads about having a 60 day strain and its been 65 days and they say they only see 20% cloudy trichomes. Alot of people i see flipping to 12/12 before the plant has reached maturity. When doing that it can take up to 2 weeks before the first signs of flowers are noticable. Which explains the 20% trichomes at 65 days.

The seeds lets say you bought them from the Attitude, if it says 65 days flowering it means from 12/12 start period!! 14 strains grown and it is right on as the bio's on the strains say.. 12/12 is start of flower because they finish in 65 days from that not from the show.... Now stop asking irrelevant questions.... It is only how the trics show really in the end....
