Hey All so the harvest took longer than expected but most everything is dried, jarred, and curing away to perfection. We pulled a pitiful 8 grams off the runt of a Moby Dick, so we're not even counting that, but the Gigabud yielded about 1 o's dried and the Super Lemon Haze tree gave us about 2 o's. So that is fantastic.
Breakdown:
Moby Dick - Spicier, with a sort of deep soury tang at the back with more tartness. Not bad, but definitely more of the Indica genetics. Slightly harsher.
Gigabud - Heavy Body stone. Sweet but a little tart as well. Very smooth, clear headed strong Indica. A little joint of this will send you into a two hour lunch.
Super Lemon Haze - Unreal. Deep lemony scent, very fruity tang and sweet to smoke. Not my ideal strain per se, but a really beautiful balance of cannibanoids that makes for a great high. My first joint of this K.O'd me for two hours.
Overall, the Gigabud took longer than expected but came out very nicely. The Super Lemon Haze took longer too but that's what you get for growing 100% Sativas with 100% Indicas. My Lesson: Stick to the same genetics for single system grows, it just works better and makes one less erratic trying to keep up with the genes needs.
But I have proved my goal to younger closet growers: that you can do these all together in a cheap set up, with "minimal" care, and still come out with kick ass fucking buds. And if I have not made my point clear enough, everyone on this site will agree: growing your own shit is always better than buying bag bud. Its not just about having fresh buds or your own genetics even, I can grow an amazing regular kush better than some can grow a vanilla kush... the point is that you know the whole process, the stages of trichrome growth, the height of your plants, their light exposure, the nutrients... and as I'm rolling my own weed into a fat joint I can visualize the process it took me to get there, and that knowledge is more comforting than just "getting high".
As always, thanks for RIU's questions, comments and amazing support. Big up to all our friends here. I will update with pics of the jars before I end this thread.
