:leaf:!!!Pictures Coming Soon!!!:leaf:
Just wanted to say "Hey!" to all those out there in the :leaf: Rollitup grow community, i've been watching others grow for a while now. This is my 3rd or 4th grow but it's my first journal, as well as it's what i consider to be my first "serious" grow. Mostly because I bought some good quality feminized seeds instead of just some weak bag-seed.

Here are the details of my setup: I have one 400-watt HPS light on top as well as various CFL's around the sides of the plants. I am growing in a mixture of organic soil and vermiculite, with a little of some basic 3-way plant food mixed in to start. I also have a large box fan and a small desk fan to help circulate the air around my plants and another medium size fan aimed right at my light ballast to help keep it cool. The whole setup is done in a 10ftTX4ftWx10ftL white closet, although having only 4 or 5 plants this area isn't nearly filled. I also have 2, 1-gallon jugs on a rack above my plants which are filled with yeast, sugar, and water to help push out CO2 for the plants.(NOTE: I am kinda broke right now which is why i haven't spent a bunch of money on a hydro setup, or a better reflector for my light, and/or some really good soil like fox farm ocean forest or what have you.)

I purchased 5 feminized Early XXX Skunk:leaf: seeds from the Ministry of Cannabis, http://www.ministryofcannabis.com/feminized-cannabis-seeds/early-xxx-feminized.html . Four out the 5 seeds made it past the first week and were veged on 18/6 for just shy of 2 months, and are now at the end of their second week of flowering on 12/12. :bigjoint:I have also been smoking this really amazing bud the past couple weeks called Green Goo:leaf:, and was lucky enough to find a perfect little seed on top of a bowl that had already been lit! Luckily it germinated, giving me my 5th plant which is budding from seed and sprouted at the beginning of the second week of flowering for the other 4 plants.

In the past I have never gotten more than a half ounce per plant, and even though the plants were small, mostly due to genetics and poor lighting, the bud that i did grow could've been a lot more potent. Which is why i bought the good seeds and i can already tell you those buds are getting big fast and are starting to STTIIIIIIINNNKKKK! Also i have fox farm big bloom on its way in the mail and although i wish i had it for the first couple weeks of budding, it should make a huge difference in yield, from what i've read anyways.

Also, I grew all 4 of the XXX Skunks to about a foot and half tall and slowly tied them down over on their side to make all of the bottom nodes and branches grow up and shoot out.

I am also going to buy some real shiny reflective paper that i've read other people used with good results. I don't think the flat white and the shitty reflector are doing much for the plants. Its good for me because i'm on a tight budget:sad: and its really cheap at the dollar store.

The XXX Skunk seeds claim that you can yield up to 400 gr per sq meter indoors and 600 gr outdoors. I have heard from many people an average amount of bud from a good plant that veges for about 2 months is 1-2 ounces low end and 3-4 ounces high end. I was hoping for about two ounces per plant not including the green goo considering that it has no veg time. I'm hoping the Fox Farm big bloom will make a big difference compared to my past grows.

If anyone has any opinions about what they think i'm looking at amount wise based on experience I would love to hear from ya.

Here are some of the first pictures during the second week of flowering:leaf::leaf::

So what does everyone think??? Any guesstimates on total yield or yield per plant, thanks for any opinions, info, or suggestions.:joint:

I'll be doing picture updates of the plants every week and as I said previously the girls:weed: are on their second week of flowering. The seed description for the :leaf:Early XXX Super Skunk:leaf: says 7-8 weeks total flowering time. This has worked out almost perfectly with the two month veg and the 2 month flower because im trying to harvest a couple weeks before Christmas:clap: so I can celebrate with some of the smaller buds!!!:fire:

Hey Hey Hey, whats up man finally got around to your op and i must say that everything looks really good so far..As for your question about yield if you are useing a 400 with side lighting cfl's and you vegged for two months you should reach your two ounce per plant goal in my opinion maybe a lil less depending on conditions and overall plant health..From what i see they all look nice love your setup so treat them right ..Peace

Thanks man, its nice to see another person finally checking out my journal. I know more will come flocking in a week or two when i start showing the real fat bud porn pictures, haha.

Anyways i'm hoping all goes as planned with the grow, i have been smoking a long time now and need a reliable source of good bud. If this grow goes half as good as i'm hoping it will, i'll be doing it up 10x bigger than this on my next one. Also I am very good at growing things other than marijuana, I had a very successful vegetable garden the last 2 years. I'm hoping my green:leaf: thumb comes in handy again this go around.

I got my Fox Farm Big Bloom today in the mail and just in time. I was worried due to the possible late delivery date that i wouldn't have it until half way through flowering, but i got it just at the end of the second week. I hear that fox farm is what makes a huge difference in a lot of grows.

Good luck, I'll follow along.

Regarding reflective material: One of the hardest things to convince people of is the fact
that a flat white surface can't be beat for reflectivity, but it is true. And hot spots are avoided,
which is a considerable plus.

Cheers :)

Yeah i have lights around all sides but pretty much everything else is just white wall and white sheet. I do however have a little homemade reflector above the light and on one side where i didn't have any cfl's i put a couple tall mirrors that i had laying around. I figured the mirrors might work kinda like the inside of a phototron box. I'm hoping everything goes well, what are you thinking your looking at yield wise with your plants??

As counterintuitive as it is, flat white walls are even better than mirrored walls (according to the documentation I've seen, over the years.)
This has been a controversy for ages, but I can't show you any studies, offhand. Phototron can go suck it.

I'm getting jazzed by LEDs, so reflection isn't an issue for me.

I just hope for healthy girls, whatever they give is plenty.

I'll be following along! Thanks for stopping by my first grow! I'll be harvesting in 7-9 days and I'll post my yield. Nothing better than cultivating your own medicine!

BTW I am using 2mm Mylar. It can be a pain to hang. I think I'll switch to flat white paint In the future. I've also been told flat white is best.

It's my understanding there is no reflective benefit from LEDs. I'm certainly no expert, but I read that somewhere credible.

Just a quick update: All the plants are doing really well and the little Green Goo plant has grown a couple inches since the last pictures. I have been using fox farm big bloom the last couple days and already see an improvement in calyx and pistil development. I hadn't used any fertilizer(other than a basic one half way through veg)and i just started the 3rd week of flowering so i'm gonna give it all fox farm for the first few waterings to make-up and then switch to every other. Ill be posting more pics at the beginning of the 4th week, next wednesday.

Just thought i would post some nice budding pictures, since i've noticed such a big change using the fox farm the last few days. You can really see some of the buds starting to kick into high gear. The girls are half way through their third week of flowering:
