By one normal fan to you mean a bedroom fan or one 120 mm comp fan? Because I doubt a normal sized bedroom fan (about 2 feet tall) will fit under the bed.

That IS a big space to be cooling with computer fans. 120mm will push a little air but it all needs to be done by calculations according to watts. Whats the cubic feet of the grow area?
Per say, 5 ft x 3 ft x 8 ft. That is 120 Cu Ft of space for your bed frame grow.

My Dresser is 3 Sq ft, 9 Cu Ft. I have 1 - 50 CFM exhaust fan up top. That would exchange complete air in my dresser 5 1/2 times a minute. I have two 70 watt HPS and two 42 watt CFL's. 224 watts total.

I could possibly be wrong but I think the heat generated is the same for any light, so long as the comparison is being done using the same wattage. Example, 70w HPS should put out about same amount of heat as a 70w incandescent or a CFL or whatever.

Back to the equation for my Dresser.
224 watts for 3 Sq Ft. Thats 74 watts per Sq Ft. At 74 watts per Sq. Ft and exchanging air 5 1/2 times a minute I keep my area regulated at 5-10 degrees above room temp. If I throw in a fan to circulate the air inside- I can keep it with or a little below room temp.

So According to those calculations, the following SHOULD be safe to follow.

70w per Sq. Ft. = Exchange air 5 1/2 times a min.
60w per Sq. Ft. = Exchange air 4 1/2 times a min.
50w per Sq. Ft. = Exchange air 3 1/2 times a min.
40w per Sq. Ft. = Exchange air 2 1/2 times a min.
30w per Sq. Ft. = Exchange air 1 1/2 times a min.

If you can Gather up enough 120 mm fans (most exchange average 80 cfm- more expensive ones you get 130 cfm) to exchange 120 Cu. Ft. of space for your wattage in a completely sealed environment cheaply, then go for it. I wouldn't recommend plugging the fans straight into the wall though! 12v and 120v don't go together and screams fire. If you mess with computers like you say, you should be able to find a power supply fairly easily. Just plug the power supply into your power strip and run your power supply to as many fans as you like. OR you could plug it straight into the wall like someone else mentioned and very possibly start a fire. Good luck - Damn that was a long post.

Lmao, now that you put it that way, you are right, and I never said there wasn't a fire hazard bro, i just said i had plugged one in before and it worked, i didn't keep it in though, I also didnt suggest plugging them into the wall (try actually reading my post bud) As for fans, i have found a fan at lowes that measureed 9"x11" (maybe the other way around, i'm baked) and that could easily get the job done considering it has three speed variables just like the bigger bedroom fans. I think it cost like 17 bucks or something, that would definitely be a more economical and more dependable/safer/effecient option.

lol, Man you must be Ripped! I'm not trying to start anything just found this funny and thought I would point it out.

A hint for your air needs, around six to eight computer fans should work, you can easily splice all of them into a cut extension cord and then plug it into the wall. Simply place the intake fans to the front of the bed so they can pull in more air that isnt blocked by the wall,a nd put your extake fans to the back where the headboard is, the great thing about it is, they are quiet and with such a low profile place, you won't have to use many of them, if you are having trouble finding comp fans, simply PM me and I will see if I can't find a way to mail you a few.
No it wouldn't because I have plugged them directly into a wall socket before, plus, you will be splicing ALL of them to the same cable.

OH lol, if you read MY post, I didn't say someone suggested it, I said someone mentioned it. Just wouldn't want someone starting a fire growing pot because of the wrong idea. Its all good, Blaze on man! :joint:

Nice setup my friend, it will work but like other people said, I think space and air intake/exhaust will be a problem. I'm not going to argue about it though hehe im too stonedddd....but, just wondering, where did you come accross that lighting fixture? Is it just 1 wall-outlet plug for each strip of lights? I just want to know where you got it...or if you made it, please share. Thanks!

Hey man, I got them at Lowes for about $30 each. It's recommended for nothing larger than 60w bubs. ( I have two 23w in each socket so I'm good). As far as wiring goes, it has a positive a negative and a ground coming out of the back of it for connection to a wall fixture. I simply bought an extension cord and connected the respective wires with wire nuts and electrical tape. Rock on.
"Portfolio" brand vanity bar 6 Light Vanity Mirrored
They come in 4 socket and 8 socket versions as well.

Theres lots of different sized regular fans. You can get one thats 1 foor tall, BUT take a look at these,
i got them from ebay 5$ total, 230V each, about the size of PC fan but made of iron and compared to a 9V PC fan MUCH stronger. They would work great for a setup like yours. Here you wouldnt use the Phone charger cable but a regular one.
Since you have a long growing space i would attach the fan/s on one end blowing air OUT and on the other end of the bed make a hole at least as big without a fan where air can get sucked in. This way the fresh air travels from one end of the bed, past the plants, takes with the heat, and exits out the other end.

Hey i like the looks of those fans, so they require no adapter? Straight to the wall? And how loud are those?

Quick belated update: I just got my babies from a friend! 9 cuttings in total, about half silver pearl and half super skunk. Pictures to follow soon.
Also: Because of bad timing, I didn't have rockwool or anything similar available when I got the cuttings. I planted them directly into some happy frog soil. I know it's POSSIBLE to do this but does anyone have any suggestions for making it work out for me? Also my temp is a bit high (say...81) is this a deathblow or just "not ideal" ?.
