If I'm not mistaken Oxycodone has a 100% oral bioavailability which mean that all of the chemical gets absorbed into your body through oral ROA (route of administration). The only reason people shoot them is for the rush that is accompanied by the drug entering the blood stream all at one time like you mentioned. IMO completely stupid, I don't care how good the rush is. I'm personally not willing to shoot wax and other fillers and binders into my veins for 5 seconds of bliss.Some say you get more of the effect which in a way is true. Or at least it feels that way.
If you for instance google the best way of taking oxy for recreational purposes it would state that eating it you get probably about 50% of the effect where as if you snort it you would get 80+% of the effect and shooting it almost a 100%
