What is a Purple Kush plant worth?

King Tut
I belong to a collective and have seen a Purple Kush plant available for trade. He said the plant is about 12 weeks old, is strong and would make a good mother. We are supposed to meet at the collective to discuss it further. I asked why he was getting rid of her and he said he just didn't have enough room in his tent and has already set a couple aside for his own mothers.

My questions are:
1) She is 1 week into flower. Shouldn't stress her too bad to go back into veg right? I intend on keeping her as a mother as long as I can.

2)How long can a mother be kept, providing you have plenty of room for your roots? (5 gal?)

3) Down to the thread title. He wants to trade, which is fine by me. I have some pretty good Trainwreck from my first grow and was thinking maybe 1/2 oz and 8 rooted clones when I get her settled in. Fair trade?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm on my second grow, preparing to start my 3rd this week. Obviously I'm not master gardener, but think I've held my own. It's made ME happy not only with the harvest, but the hobby in and of itself!

Budlover clones are worth both less than the pots they're planted in and more than their weight in gold. You'll throw more clones out than give away, if you want the new strain - or if you just want to be a helpful person - make the trade.

.

"How long can a mother be kept, providing you have plenty of room for your roots?"

Forever. Take two clones off the mother a half week into 12/12 stretch and flower the mother, keep a genetic chain rather than a mother.

be worth at least speaking with the person and seeing what he wants for it. You may get the plant without the 1/2.

I missed this part -

"He wants to trade, which is fine by me. I have some pretty good Trainwreck from my first grow and was thinking maybe 1/2 oz and 8 rooted clones when I get her settled in. Fair trade?"

He wants to trade a plant one week into flower for 1/2 oz of bud and 8 rooted clones?

If you're got plenty to spare why not? If the deal pinches you and makes you tight on bud forget it, purple doesn't get you high and I can think of many strains I'd go for before blowing my wad on one plant. I give CCOB trained plants ready to go into flower - in Root Pruning buckets - as starter gifts to new medical growers. I'm all for fair trades, so long as they're fair both ways.

"See how healthy she looks, etc."

Budlover is there any chance of getting him to email you some pics that you could post for us? I'm interested now!

Great advice, I don't have room to keep a mother so this is going to work perfectly for me.

SkunkDunks if you want to look more into genetic chaining download the Cloning chapter of Weed Science, linked at the bottom of this post. I've got 23 strains growing, keeping a mother for each would require an extra grow cage.

Only In Dreams is an 8 minute video that follows the pictorials of Weed Science.

Well, I got the pics and I we are going to have to meet in person. I don't even know if I want to mess with it.?
