So its been awhile since Ive grown and whe I was younger I used to use yeast sugar and water in a bottle to produce the yeast. I dont really remember the ratios Ive seen a few posts on here but not much. What is the general take on Homemmade CO2 is it worth it? And what are some good ratios to use thanks for the help :weed:

Nice thanks for the response PappaBear do you use any type of CO2 yourself and if you do is it something you've seen a difference after using it

Yes I do know you can breathe on plants too create CO2 But the reason I am posting this is because this seems like a subject that always ends with someone saying breathe on them. Im sure there are some people that do the sugar yeast method or the vinegar baking soda method SO i figured if people can see pictures becuase they want to do CO2 then they can have an example

Honestly I used the homemade method and It sucked balls. The Co2 doesn't last and it is a mess to use and keep up. There are big 5gal bucket Co2 machines that are yeast, sugar and water. But I never looked Into it just a thought for ya if thats the route you wanna go.

yes using it now, im using in a water bottle right now. 2cups water, 1 cup sugar and a teaspoon of molasses and half pack of yeast.. plants are more lush and healthy.

I was doing a little youtube surfing this morning and found some pretty decent videos in case anyone else is ever interested in making their own.

I am familiar with process of making CO2 as a by product of the fermentation process. I don't know of your interest in making beer or distilling but when creating a wash or mash as some people call it. Your basic ingredients are water, sugar, yeast, and some form of yeast nutrient (grains). I've had wash buckets run for over two weeks. The process of fermentation has a CO2 by product. So, your plants get the benefit of CO2 and you get the alcohol. Before distillation the wash will have a alcohol content of between 6 and 20% depending on ingredients and environmental conditions.

Here's a cheap CO2 solution:

ExHale CO2 Cultivator $23.40

ExHale - Homegrown CO2 cultivates CO2 24 hours a day with no need to refill bottles or use expensive CO2 production units. The power of ExHale lies in the mycelial mass inside the vented cultivator. This mycelial mass cultivates 20,000ppm CO2 and the one-way breather patch releases CO2 continually for up to 6 months.

ExHale comes complete and is cultivating CO2 even before you get out of the checkout line. No need to turn it on or turn it off, simply place ExHale in your grow space and leave it alone to do its job.

A continuous shower of CO2 directly onto your plants is the most efficient way to deliver CO2. Placing the ExHale Cultivator slightly above the level of your plants will insure they receive the CO2 they need 24 hours a day for up to 6 months.

The ExHale Cultivator is designed for small to medium grow spaces, or more specifically 1 ExHale Cultivator will provide 4-6 plants with the CO2 they need.

I use 4 X 1 gallon sugar/yeast generators and yes I saw a lot of difference when I added them. I initially added them for minor heat stress, not only did the heat stress symptoms go away they took off like mad in veg. I use 4 1/2 cups sugar and 1 packet of dried yeast (2 1/4 tsp) for each gallon jug plus a 1/4 tsp of baking soda to "kick start" the process, lasts about 10 days on average. Always use warm (not hot) water and don't fill the jug completely. I usually fill it 1/2 way w/ the warm water, mix in the sugar then top off up to about the 3/4 level (right where the jug starts to taper in) then I add the yeast and finally the baking soda. Hope that helps.
