White Powder???

One of my plants has got like white sugar powder on its leaves. Is it like a form of mold or something, it seems more like pollen or something. When I tap a leaf, it just the powder just falls off. I just started adding molasses to my watering and am wondering if that has something to do with it.

yeah several things you can do .. first find out what kind of mildew is on your plant.. there are a few different forms and countless strains. More than likely if your indoors and you have high humidity, shady spots, low air circultion and cold night temps you more than likely have powdery mildew.. i admit i have a lil now too.. sucks. but youll get help here hopefully.. riu is tha shit.. any pics???

your conditions for powder mildew match my except my humidity isn't to high. I don't have any pics, and I keep them up at my parents house, so it would be acouple days before I get some. Whats riu? Thanks for you help.

Yea, I get that shit too.
There is lots of stuff you can use. high ph soapy water sprayed on the tops of the leaf will kill it. Thats basically what one product, "Greencure" is.
Sulfur will kill it to.

Remove the infected plant asap. Lower the PH in your reservoir to 5.5. Clean the infected plants leaves with a water bleach solution (20 parts water 1 part bleach). If the plants are vegging or in their first week of flowering spray them thoroughly with tap water. If you have the money for it buy a sulphur burner.

Follow my advice and your crop will be saved.

Please dont call me an idiot. Please tell me why it is not good to use bleach diluted in tap water. Ive used it and my plants came out perfect without mildew.

I don't have any pics. Quite honestly I'm a little embarrassed of my operation. I grow outdoors, but this summer the season sucked for everyone in my area. My girls didn't start flowering until the beginning of Nov (planted in early may). So I bought some lights and transplanted them indoors to try getting something out of them. Imagine transplanting 27 roughly 7 foot plants! pretty sketchy, but they were on a mountain with a discrete trail to my indoor spot. Snow flew about 3 weeks later. Anyways, I looked it up and it's def. powdery mildew and it's not to bad yet on the one plant. Appreciate everybody's help.

ive used serenade and alls it does is pretty much prevent it from getting worse, but even so it does escalate a little towards the end.

27 Seven foot tall plants?
Now that's a days work alright.

Mildew like your plant needs the correct pH to grow. Since it lives on the top of the leaf where there is a waxy coating you can treat it by lowering the ph in a spray then in a couple days spray again to wash it off. If you are in a high RH condition already sulfur burners work well. Or even get sulfur powder sprinkled over the leaf but the safest way to kill it is to lower the pH on the leaf surface. Not your res.

Thanks bro, gonna get on top of that. Yeah and it was a fucken days work. With them being that big, everybody said I'd kill 'em transplanting. It was even surprising to me when I didn't kill one of them. Then again I've been working in the actual landscaping field for years now.
