I'll start putting it all in action soon enough. Life intervenes and growing medical dope isn't towards the top of the list. The good news is this coming round will be much more cool; Full of hash smoking tangents and lots of good information. Here are the specs :

*600w HPS.

*2 rows of 6 plants, SOG style.

*Same ol Fox Farm soil.

*Switched to Botanicare nutrients for a try.
-Pure Blend Pro Grow
-Pure Blend Pro Bloom
-Liquid Karma

*New ventilation configuration.
-Pulling air passively Via my reflector out the top of the cab. My blower will now serve primary temperature control and ambient air supply. Got rid of my axial fans. I have excellent consistant negative pressure, running my blower atleast 25% slower than before and maintaining better temperatures as well. I always knew I was a "Pull Air" kinda guy.

*Uniformity. I like my variety, but this cab size has it's limitations. No tying, cropping or pinching this round. 12 identical clones, 12 plants harvested at the same time. Every grow is different, after all, so last round was seeing what I liked and disliked about this new cab. Thus the variety of strains.

*Maybe Co2. Maybe. I've got my system , but tailoring this cab for Co2 would be a chore. I want to do things right and sealing it all up from the inside would make some spots half-assed tight..IOW, I don't feel like pulling this thing apart and removing it from the closet to seal it up right for Co2. But we'll see what I think after she's loaded with clones and I'm drunk one evening.

*Details, details, details. I want solid documentation. I will try and provide a better read out of my daily numbers for all of you guys here. Last round was a few pictures and a few words, not too many logistics. A big part of upholding a decent journal is providing readers with something new and exciting in each post with something to learn. I feel as if I failed that aspect last round. I sat around and read everything the good journal posters had for me, now it's my turn :-D.

*More pictures of The Snood. Videos too..I know I know most of you have no idea what/who that is. She's my dog. A few of you showed interest and she's great so why not make her a part of the discovery? Maybe a dog experiement tied into the grow log? Ideas pitched will be considered.

*Havent picked up a strain yet. If I use my own cuttings it'll be another month. The only Indica mother I've got now is MK Ultra, and she's still young yet. Otherwise it's two Sativa Dom's to choose from. I'll probably just see what one of my buddies have, or maybe go to my favorite dispensary.

OK, I think that's it. Thanks for reading -HMD :-D

Right on Howzer, sounds like a good time. On my last grow I tried out the lst and wound up with a cabinet that was too packed, so I tried to keep it simple this time. I decided no training or anything like you mention, but I wound up veging too long and now have the same problem. Just a word of advice.

Incorporating CO2 would be awesome, but how would you do that in a cab? Mine is set at 80 degrees and the fan is always running. Wouldn't that just suck out all the CO2?

That's what I'm saying. I'd have to make some changes and I don't want to do that. Yes, the Co2 would be pointless when the ventilation is running. If I had the light ventilation seperated from the ambient air I could do it. But since the blower is cooling the lamp while providing fresh air, I can't.

The Snood likes it when I make Prime Rib :

 my labs get those all the time. Real bone is the only thing that lasts more than a few minutes of teeth chomping lol.

Ha, not only do they last longer they're actually beneficial too. Those bones/bone fragments you buy at most pet stores are preserved and processed in some way. They have flavors/dyes added and often times have undergone a process to remove the marrow, "clean" it and inject it back in. Especially avoid the bones at chain stores. And I don't mind going to the butcher counter and asking for beef knuckles or hooves. I make my own stocks about once a month anyway, so the Snoodle is always stocked up with fresh bones :).

The best is when they chew threw the bone to splinters and swallow them, then I have to take them to the vet because they have 3 inch bone slivers in their ass

Hahaha anus splinters are a drag. Hasn't happened with the Snood yet but we'll see.. I got some free Iguana Juice samples when I picked up a new filter today. I've got both grow and bloom and want to try it out on a couple plants this next round. Who likes Iguana Juice? I think I'll like the bloom a lot.. It's got all the micros/macros available and a 4-3-6 ratio..I always compensate for the lower nitrogen in Bloom foods by splitting the difference with some Grow so this looks good to me. Most of the organic liquid fertilizers out there still stick to the big "Higher Phosphorus in Flowering" conundrum. Using your average liquid Bloom fertilizer(organic OR synthetic) you'll find it very difficult to keep a lush green plant without upping the N and dropping your K a bit. I hadn't gotten into liquid ferts for organic grows until just recently so I'll be trying out a bunch more stuff in the near future.

Advanced Nutrients makes some good stuff from what I've seen, but the cost is prohibitive either way I look at it. This was free today and I couldn't pass up free :-)

OK, ok. I know, GET OVER WITH IT AND START A NEW JOURNAL ALREADY HOWZER! Yes, that's it. You have detected the change too. I've changed my mind again. Well, been forced to change my mind. After I flipped the switch for the dry run with the 600w in the cab, I discovered that I couldn't run the 5 Amps in this room. And I'm not relocating this cab. It's dialed in. I'll be moving back down to 400w, but operating a 430w Agrosun bulb with the "super lumens" switch. That's the best I could do. You're also probably thinking "That small difference in Amps is really enough to trip a breaker?". Yes. The place I live in has old, janky electrical work that's better removed and destroyed with napalm than fixed. Ever. So there you go. It starts this week with some mystery cuttings(you'll have to wait :-D)...
