Hey rollitup,

Been a while since I posted in here (I made the suggestion to make this forum :P).

Anyway, I recently got a new job at a hospital making a pretty decent wage so I am looking to move out asap, I have about 3 grand saved up - but my question to the people who have moved out of their parent's house already is what are the monthly/weekly expenses that I am overlooking?

I have calculated:
Toiletries
Gas
Food
Utilities/Rent
Cell/Car payment (And insurances)
Cable/Internet
Dry cleaning (A must for me)
Housewares
Miscellaneous (Cigs, drinks here and there)

Can anything see anything big that I am missing?

Well right now I got it as a minimum of 50 max of 100 (food), so I think that should be sufficient. Dry cleaning I only have 3 pairs of work pants and I am a pretty clean person, my ties have never gotten anything on them (Plus it's only a dollar to clean a tie). Misc. I have set at 15-40, so I think that would work seeing as how the most cigs I will smoke in a week is 3 packs and I hardly drink.

I wish I could talk some game, but the fact is I'm working full time and going to school full time. Between homework, class, and work I really don't find the time to get out (Especially when you add the time it takes for the shopping).

I don't plan on smoking weed for much longer. Currently whenever I smoke I drop by a friend's house, he smokes me out and I pay for his bowling on Sunday
 
Don't forget to factor in the possibility of food prices doubling every year. If you think you can get by on $100 of food per month you are eating top ramen for every meal. Overall food prices are up 24% this year, next year will be doubly bad. Gas prices will go up, in fact due to inflation of the money supply it won't be long before everything you need to buy costs more. But its not that it really costs more, the dollar just buys less, it has been devalued. You see the government needs to find a way to pay off a multi-trillion dollar deficit, the only way they can do it is to impose a hidden tax, that tax is called inflation.

If you don't get out much and have little money I would suggest staying with the Parents until the economy gets better, might be a few years.

No offense but you don't seem to know what you're talking about. I'm not looking for help from government conspiracy theorists, nor am I looking for a debate as to whether inflation is a tax or not.. lmao.

If you have a good paying job and have 3 grand saved you should be fine depending on how much your spending a month on rent and utilities. If your doubting you can make ends meet always look for a land lord that will allow month to month or 6 month lease agreements. This way, if you cant afford to keep up with expenses you can move out without losing any money. Also, If times do get tough im sure you can find a roommate that would like to split the expenses espcially since your in college

I plan on having a room mate... just yet to find anyone reliable. I don't doubt that I won't be able to make ends meet, I'm just a worrier.. it's what I do.
 
Your just a kid, what do you know? Obviously not much if you come to a Marijuana site to get help with budgeting. If you don't like the help you receive you don't need to get all offensive about it.

$50 for food with a Max of $100 for the month means you aren't going to be eating much. Only a complete IDIOT MORON DUMBASS would think a $50 bill is going to buy food for a month. I laugh at how hungry you are going to be. Stick it out with mommy and daddy, you don't have the skills to make it on your own kid.

Inflation is a Government conspiracy theory eh? I thought that was funny, proves how little you know.

1. I came here to get different viewpoints and a broad variety of people, the same reason I posted this on 2 other forums.
2. I was never "offensive", but I think the word you're looking for is defensive in this case.. lmao. Maybe you should probably go change your post in my homework section so you can maybe go back to school and get your G.E.D. so you can wash my car.
3. My current grocery bill usually is around 20-30 for my lunches and breakfast, add one more meal and a snack in there and that's about 50 a week... case and point.
4. I never said it was a gov't conspiracy, the other retard did.

Go back to school, get an education because you sound like a god damn retard.

Just read a few of your posts, shouldn't you be collecting some tolls somewhere?
 
one last thing, remember to budget for savings... there will always be stuff that crops up unannounced, and you will need to pay for it, so plan on a reasonable percentage of your wages as savings... plus saving for the future helps you now... the more you save now (without over-saving of course), the more you will be able to do in future... good luck!

I think the question is how much you make a month. what you have saved up can go quickly. Also put your expenses into 2 categorys. Fixed and Variable. Fixed would be rent, car payment, cable. Variable would be entertainment, electricity, food, clothes. Also heres a tip. In the winter turn back your thermostat. It may suck but youll save a ton in the winter months with heating costs. Youll just have to walk around your house with a bunch of blankets on. I do it and saves me alot of money. and of course grow your own green. she can get expensive if you dont, im sure you already know
 
Also, no drama is right about 50-100 on grocerys. Youll need atleast 150- 200 IMO unless you have the stomach of a rat
