Belladonna Sea of Green 400w CMH

Hello,

First Entry here. Planning a very small Sea of Green with Belladonna clones.

Here's the equipment list:
400w Phillips CMH
400w Optilume HPS
Sunleaves Lightwave Reflector
Sunlight Supply 400w HPS ballast
4 Misc 6 inch fans
4 inch vortex fan and can filter 9000
Dark Room 80 32"x32"x63"
Sunleaves Nova(used during cloning)

Biothrive Bloom and Grow
Bio Bud

Diamond Black
Liquid Karma(used only in cloning)

I haven't used CMH before and have only used the General Organics line through Veg on much larger plants prior to this so this is uncharted waters for me.

Cloning

Typically I take clones and use clonex on them. I keep them under a sunleaves nova and give them Liquid Karma after five days once a week until they are successfully rooted. Usually this whole process takes about 10-14 days.

Yup, there they are. I honestly saw absolutely no difference using ZHO and Karma to just using Karma on it's own...

Yup, there they are again, i think about fourty, I plan on culling all of them except for the most vigorous 18 or so (depending on how many will fit in my space) in the next two to three days.

Funny you should ask. I actually was "loaned" these genetics from a buddy of mine. The high is okay but not intense, it is pretty and has a great aroma after it cures. The leaves look fat and wide like indy leaves instead of the satty leaves I was expecting it to possess. The only other thing I can remember is that this Pheno of it is actually about 9 1/2 weeks and my friend that ordered it was under the impression it was more like an eight week strain. Personally I don't like to be so blazed I can't talk or function so hopefully this will be a nice mellow daytime smoke, I get heart palpitations when I smoke something like sour diesel and can't function. This will be interesting on my end too.

After having to deal with an insurance adjuster I decided constructing a muffler was in order. A 20$ trip to ace and thirty minutes of my time I have solved the noise issue almost entirely. My lady friend noticed immediately upon coming in the front door that the vortex could'nt be heard three rooms away. I strongly recomend looking ICMag and finding Kovenant's DIY thread. KUDOS!

First picture is my Vortex wrapped in a towel to further stifle nose. I use two cheesball booster fans on the intakes.

The cords are sloppy, I know.

I wound up with 18 that I kept, they have been vegging for four days now.

I checked out that muffler...nice. Noise bugs me bigtime, it's one reaon I've gone with LEDs and induction lights, but I think I'll build one of these mufflers.

Flowering Week One


I hit them with some Azamax today just as a preventative. Yup.

Nice grow. You potted your clones two weeks ago? Dang.

Looks good, pretty healthy, but they appear a bit iron deficient. Most of the plants I see around here are much lighter green than mine. It's my opinion that many people are a bit heavy handed with commercial fertilizers. In their zeal to get their plants to do their best, they tend to lock-up iron.

I hate to put it this way, but I don't know how else to put it: the one plant I have right now is one month old today and I haven't seen any on here that compares to it. It's deep green, and much more developed than any I've seen at this stage. And all this under just 36w of light. It's probably just dumb luck, but I haven't given it anything but molasses and seaweed, and a pinch of Epsom salts and a couple of alfalfa pills. Oh, and I pushed a nail into the soil to provide iron. It is green as envy. No joke.

It'll probably curl up and die, now that I've said this, but so far so good. I'm fairly amazed.

I have no pics, so I could be lying through my teeth. You decide.

Sure enough, Ted, I post the above and the very next day I check on my plant and it's suffered light bleaching. Now it's all pissed off.

I noticed in your profile that you used to work in a hydro shop...so, I have a question for you: Could my plant's deep green color be from a potassium deficiency? I saw something about that somewhere, but she seems healthy as a horse...other than being dark green.

Are you going to abandon this thread? Where did you go?

What are you growing your plant in soil wise? What sort of seaweed and molasses? It would make it really easy if you had a pic or two man. I wouldn't immediately be concerned about the color and would be more concerned with the bleaching. Does the light feel uncomfortable to you when you hold your hand over the plant? could you be more specific with the bleaching? Best of luck.

Hi, Ted. Good to hear from you. My Kessil was just left too close as stretching began, I think that aspect is fine now. Just a few white tipped leaves. I think it disturbed the beginning bud site development, but things look back on track. Just no fragrance.

The soil is a mix of Light Warrior and Lady Bug organic potting soil, with a little Texas Green Sand, rock phosphate, a bit of activated charcoal and eggshell mixed in. And one earthworm.

Molasses is from Gardenville, and I also have used Grandma's unsulfered. Seaweed from Maxicrop.

I'll breakdown and buy a digital camera someday, but I have good old school equipment, and I'm partial to it. Just not as immediate.

Good luck with your computer. My plant problems aren't really worth worrying about. The color is just curious.

So here is belladonna now "buddin" at 12 days in or so. I kinda burned the tips just a bit from either using sm90 as a preventative or from mixing too strong of a dose of nutrients, i need to remember to not treat these things like indies. I cleaned up the lower canopy and got rid of a lot of the bullshit lower secondary stems that aren't going to do much anyway on the 8th day of "buddin". It feels like it has been a while.


I was also given a packet of harpin protein from my old job which looks exciting upon researching it. Out of 18 plants 7 were sprayed with harpin. I am curious to see what effect this product has assuming it's not just bullshit.

In a few more days I will swap the CMH for the HPS, yessir you betcha.

I was kinda thinking it was scalding from the light, how hot do the kessil lights actually get? I know you have your own thing going but the fruit and flower granulate from foxfarm is great, hands down the best and probably most important(beneficial fungi) element of what i give my plants. Give it a shot if you live near a shop that sells it. Keep me posted on the kessil and your plant.

The Kessils get warm, but not hot. They have an intensely focused light stream. You can't let them get as cozy as other LEDs. I was warned, but I have to get a feel for limits. Now I know.

Thanks for the tip. Their Light Warrior has at least one type of mycorrhizae, and maybe both, I'm not sure. I'll try the FF granulate, I've heard talk about it and been considering it, but what would I be gaining? I''ll order some on-line. I'm a little wary of adding much to autos, This strain is particularly suited to going unfed. My instinct urges me to just keep it drunk on my own homebrew. So far, no hangovers.

Your plants are too beautiful. What, do you polish every leaf? Unbelievable.

I'm inspired. I think I'll crack one of my Belladonna beans. Don't know where I'll put it. I have a Blue Mystic started and waiting on deck, figuring the Fast Bud will be done by mid January and I plan to top the Blue Mystic, Uncle Ben style. So, I'm trying to time it just right. Maybe the Blue Mystic will be a male, so I'll have another chance if I sprout a Belladonna, and I wouldn't be topping that.

My space is so tight right now, it's hard to manage. Plus, I cloned my auto, just because it's verboten. I'm a bad man... just a gluton for punishment. We'll see.
