Here we grow again....
Next up is a few AK-48's and a Special Kush, the free offer seed currently. All femenized. I think I can accommodated four plants without much crowding, especially using a screen to train these ladies. So this would make this my first SOG but I'm no stranger to LST so this shouldn't be a big jump. I'll update with some pics soon of the setup and germinate the seeds tonight. My last grow took 5 months and could've gone on longer, time for a fast finisher, pull up a chair ladies and gentlemen... Lets watch nature run it's course!

Nirvana Seeds AK-48 Fem, UFO seed was a Special Kush
DR100 - 3x3x6
8.5 inch white square pots
Digital Greenhouse 400 watt digital switchable HPS/MH
sealed Euro reflector with 6" flanges
1 - 4" inline fan
1 - 6" inline fan
1 - 6" inline duct booster fan
1 - 6" clip fan
1 - 12" ocilating fan
1 - Can Filter 2600

Medium is soil consisting of FF Oceans Forest, FF Happy Frog, Earthworm castings, Domalite Lime, and a small amount of a additive that was given to me as a sample last time I was in the hydro store. I'll post exactly what that is later.

Feeding regiment will consist of a organic tea that I will brew myself, more on that later, I shouldn't need to feed until flower with the soil mix that I will be using.

Fortunately the two strains I'm doing finish in about the same ammount of time so I can do two strains at once in the same enclosure.

For those that followed the last grow you'll notice I've removed my 8,000 btu AC out of the setup this go around, turns out that sucker was costing me a lot more money then I realized to run 24/7, so I'm opting to rework my ventilation system, fans and ducting, to get things more exceptable temp wise, old man winter, I could use an assist here please.

Here we are about to get crackin' on those seeds... my 6" inline from Sunleaves should be here tomorrow...

Well, old man winter is gonna dictate my ambient temps around the tent and the closer to say 40-50f that it stays the easier a time I'll have keeping things around the 75 degree mark in the DR100. With fans precisely placed I hope I can just keep things under 90f in the hottest part of the day to be honest, heat is gonna be my biggest bottle neck I feel. It will just be trail and error to get things where I want them.

Welcome back moash, and nice to have you bajafox!

I wish I had more time to work on this. Here's what got done today... I just need to cut that hole bigger (from 4" to 6") and connect the ducting to my new fan I'm showing off in these pictures. Filter ducting is good and the right side of the euro hood is good after 1 little piece of duct tape. The exhaust is going strait up and into the attic; the ducting I'm going to use for the run between the tent and attic is insulated. I'm also going to mount my ballast on the wall this time and get it up and away from the intakes and fan sucking air in on the bottom left side.
Very excited to see how close this new ventilation setup will keep me to ambient temps...

I went so far as too install insulated ducting on the left side of the euro reflector so everything past the light to the attic will be insulated. Tested this fan and it's kinda loud, once all the ducting is on I'm hoping it helps a good bit... but man, does this thing move some air!

Ohh yea, and I finally put the seeds between two plates in a wet paper towel,
3 ak48's and a special kush #1

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

What a wonderful day! I'm so blessed to have the family I do. Before a turkey coma took me away I had to peek in my paper towel.... we have ignition.... by tomorrow night I need to be running my first overnight temp test, therefore I've got just a little work ahead of me...

Thanks for being around moash.... you make this more fun... wait until you see the pictures of what the inside of the tent looks like, if I continue to try and keep everything inside then there's no way I'm fitting a muffler in there.... I'm gonna plug it all up together and see what a 409cfm, 170cfm, and a booster fan rated @ 250cfm sound like along with a couple of other fans.... this could be real bad...

All four seeds have begun growing a tap root so that's great, they have all awoken. Two of the three ak48's have already got leaf showing and the KP#1 is eagerly anticipated.... first three pics were from around 2pm the rest from around 11:30pm

Temps were around 73 and RH was about 75%, after everything was on for about a half hour temps were 78 and RH was 67%.... loud or not, this is going to be just the ticket

Nice! I'm new and I'm subbed - we have VERY similar setups.... except I have 1000w. I just started from seed on 11/3. Good Luck - I can't wait to see more.

Max temp on first overnight was 79, I'm going to let it run all day and see what it gets up too... temp was 79 w/ RH @ 65% when I opened her up this morning... no sign of the SP#1 yet.

Moash and Kiki007, thanks for the support! :)

well ..... 12 hours later TR.... what's the good word?
Max temp with the lights on over the course of the day was....... 82 degrees :)
I'm a happy man... I took things out of the frying pan (two 40 watt cool white fl's) , and into the fire (400 watt MH). pics... I'll bring them just a little closer after they've had time to adjust to the temp difference. Seeing this battle with heat makes me glad I didn't go with a 600 watt light originally... here is a pic of the light exhaust as well.

I know! I'm saving a bundle this grow around! What's great is that I'm going to eventually put the girls into about 19/5 and have the lights off during the hottest part of the day so that will only help that much more with temperature! I may even have to worry a bit about it getting cold in there depending on how harsh our winter is, all I can do it wait and see...

Everything looks great TR.... lets hope it stays that way! My highest temp yesterday was 84... and my lowest was 60!! Most people say the temps should only drop 15 degrees when the lights are off.....?? I don't know how they do that -- especially when its 32 degress overnight where I live.!!

If it doesn't get any colder then that then I wouldn't even worry, that's not too far off from the optimal swing... If I were you then I would grow some Purple strains because the best way to get the colors to really pop on them is to get things nice and cold in the flowering stage... I bet you could grow some beautiful colors in those temps.
