i was told by the guy at the grow store to flush with the carbs i have, something about the plant eating more up?!?!

i have humboldt honey carbs and i am growing in soil with ffof, see grow in sig if interested....

anyways, flushing with carbs make sense? they are organic....

'Organic' salts are the same as 'synthetic' salts to the plant, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to flush if you're adding 'stuff' during your flush.

Flushing means you make the plant use up all the nutrients, if your still providing food it wont deplete the stores it has and live off the carbs.

I hate to break it to you but hydro store guys are there to sell, not help. I'd never buy that product you bought and if I did, there are better times during the plant's life to use it than during the 'flush'.

Where in "'Organic' salts are the same as 'synthetic' salts to the plant, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to flush if you're adding 'stuff' during your flush. " did he tell you to flush with it? Blackstrap mollasses is used for the flush because it does basically the same thing, the very reasons they list on their promotional product info. How am i wrong ?

what do carbs do then? i only give them to the plant in flower right?
Carbs feed your soil and supposedly work well when used in conjunction with beneficial bacteria. I'm testing some beneficials right now and feeding them sweet from botanicare. 45 days into flower and so far the beneficials haven't done anything that I don't normally achieve without them. So at the moment, i'm of the attitude that microbes provide no benefit when using 'synthetics' and products like what you bought are an even bigger waste. Sweet, however, has additional benefits outside of feeding microbes.

I know, i saw that, but like i said those carbo loads/bud boosters are basically glorified mollasses though.
THANK YOU! lol.. i was trying to figure that out before, i wondered for a test if i should switch up my carbo load for mollases becuz my carbo load to me just seems like powderized sugar.. (www.dutchnutrientformula.com)

and solarguy whats up bro, dont flush with carbs if u want to do something like that, flush once, then flush with carbs, and double the dosage haha... flushing is to get the plant to use up whats left in the soil (or whatever ur growing in) from feeds..

so you guys are saying dont use carbs and water to flush and only use plain water?

how much plain water should i use when i flush? how much runoff should there be?

how often do i flush? every watering for the last week of flower?

When it's time to flush for harvest, I stop all nutes and water with just Clearex added, for 1-2 weeks. I do use Grandma's molasses and Sweet alternately during flower.

Here is the deal...everyone has a different opinion or method they like to use...you just have to pick one you like and that works for you, but not everyone is going to agree with whatever you pick....what some people say is pointless and does nothing other people say it triples their yields....So you just never know. This is the internet and you get hundreds of people all relying on different things...very seldom will you get the same answers...I usually start with an idea and then cull those ideas to the 2-3 most popular things I hear and then I pick one out of those 2-3 and go with it. Like for awhile if you searched for the artist behind closing time on the internet it would pull up the song and say that Green Day was the artist....THEY ARE NOT!!!! But since some yahoo posted they were and then more and more people say that erroneous info they spread it like a disease until one day most of the internet thought that green day was the artist and they took away Semisonics one hit wonder...they became a no hit wonder as it were...lol. You will still find alot of sites that say Green Day but that is not true...In summation of this tirade I must say that when using the internet for research you have to use alot of your own knowledge and remember that just because someone put it on the net doesn't make it true...and false information on the internet spreads like syphillis in 1930's America...lol.
